This is a fair analysis of the situation. Tyreek Hill is not innocent, but the officers were more out of line in my opinion. The escalation was not called for, and we should expect more professionalism and a higher will to deescalate from people with authority, higher levels of discretion, and a gun.
they were arguably extra with jonnu smith, not with tyreek they had every right to detain his brat ahh to do their job safely. in jonnu smith's case, try it yourself parking in front of an ongoing traffic stop on the side of the highway and getting out of your car and walking around see what happens bud lol
Long time fan. Here's some things to remember when being stopped and/or coming into contact by any law enforcement officer. Supreme court case Penn V Mimms: the officer, while in the scope of their duties (ie a traffic stop) can have the driver exit the vehicle for safety purposes. This may include other passengers in the vehicle. Arizona V Johnson: this case dictates that the officer has the ability and authority to identify the driver of a vehicle, this may extent to the other occupants of the vehicle. In regards to additional people showing up to the traffic stop location, please be mindful that this creates a safety issue. Not in the event that the person(s) coming on the scene are trying to cause harm or necessarily interfere with the investigation, but it diverts more attention to the task at hand. The officers are responsible for everyone in this area so to speak. So the person that arrives to the scene and pulls up behind the police vehicles (in this case police motorcycles) are blocking the emergency lights that are active during the stop, which provides a form of traffic control. The reason you hear 25 feet several times is due to several states putting in laws that dictate that a person watching and/or recording a police interaction must remain 20-25 feet away from the incident. Furthermore, it is rather obvious that the situation is indeed going way further than it needed to go, more and more people are showing up on the scene creating more of a safety issue. It is common practice (remember that every agency and every state has different training and different laws), to get all people not associated with the incident away from the incident. In this case, while I understand a friend/teammate/brother is being detained by the police, if you get a verbal command to leave to scene or move your vehicle from the roadway, do so and do not argue at that time. Like it was stated in this video, the side of the road is not the place to have court. While I also understand the idea that the officers area at fault to an extent, there is a proper way to handle situations. Do I think any of the officers did anything wrong, if they did I myself did not see it. Could they have tried to de-escalate the situation, of course they could but we have to try and remember that this situation is fluid and we are watching it from a comfortable position. Like Mr. Adonis said both parties could have done better.
The problem is that civilians being upset about being pulled over is extremely normal. The cops job is to deescalate situations. This cop did nothing but escalate a simple speeding violation. He shouldn't be a cop. Especially with how he was handling bystanders there us absolutely no reading to treat bystanders like that. Absolutely ridiculous
Being upset is one thing but you're still supposed to be a fucking adult. There's no excuse acting like a dickhead to someone doing their job just because you're upset especially if you're the one in the wrong.
Tell me you don’t understand about cops safety being an important factor. Tyreek’s car had black tinted windows, which makes it hard for cops to see if he’s fishing for a weapon or not. He was already told THREE times to lower his windows so that the police would feel more assured about their own safety. This was after he was stopped for driving 100 MPH in a construction zone, endangering the other drivers around him, and the cops had every right to be pissed at him. How would you feel if you were in that cop’s shoes at that moment where someone who refuses to comply by keeping the damn car windows rolled down? This would’ve never happened had Tyreek Hill put his ego aside and complied with the officers and accepted the damn traffic ticket.
I'm speaking about the civilians who arrived and weren't showing any aggression that's what I'm eluding to and if you think screaming and detaining bystanders is just cause he didn't feel safe when nobody was aggressive then I hope you're not a cop either.
@@bobthetitanic there's no such law but the officer has the AUTHORITY to escalate the situation if you don't roll your window down specially if is tinted

One point about the seatbelt, Tyreek was putting his seatbelt back on with the window was up. When to 2nd officer opened the door his seatbelt was off. So at the very least it would appear he is moving to exit the vehicle. This whole situation was escalated by both parties, however only one party has a mandate of how they are supposed to conduct themselves.

Geez, I gotta be careful on my comment: *I pray that those 2 officers, keep safe, & do not get messed up, for their power tripping manners!* We definitely don't want that to happen!
Bro at the beginning of the full video his window was down as the cop pulled up to him and told him to pull over. He proceeded to roll the window back up between the time when the cop told him to pull over and he complied. He then got mad at the cop for tapping on his window that was originally down. I don't understand how all these channels are leaving out that whole section of the video. You can literally see inside the car when the cop caught up to him.
@@davestube85 It shows his character and the games he trying to play. It really is important to understand how you get from point a to point c. This matters when someone sits there and lies straight to your face about something. I get it you might fall for that slight of hand magician stuff but I'm not falling for that bs in this case.
so if WE can see in the car do you think the cop could? His demand to roll down the window is not needed to SEE a license and registration. Its was an ego trip. One that will cost him dearly.
Really good unbiased recap of the situation. Both sides had attitude in the beginning. However, the police should have tried to de-escalate the situation. They seemed more irritated Tyreek telling them not to bang on his window. Maybe they could have tried, "If you cooperate with us you can be on your way. If you resist this will take a while". The penalty for being late for the game is many more times than the traffic stop
Especially if they ran his plates before the PoV officer got the call, although Tyreek should have known that the only McLarens that are allowed to speed within the complex of Hard Rock Stadium are driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (McLaren's Formula One drivers, and during the Formula One Miami Grand Prix that takes place on a temporary circuit around the stadium grounds
I agree with a lot of what you mentioned on how both parties were wrong at different points. But no one should have to put their rights aside, because some police officers either ignore those rights, or are unfamiliar with them in the first place...or they become so determined to assert their authority in the heat of the moment, that they forget the difference between personal orders and lawful orders
Chisel I 100% agree with you, Hill could have communicated better with the cop at his car window that he didn’t want his window down while at a traffic stop because paparazzi or tabloids could be taken pictures of him to make a false narrative. Also the cop that physically used aggressive force and shoved Hill to the ground definitely needs to be discharged or let go. Plus when there’s multiple people shouting different commands is very confusing to follow tbh
Brother I appreciate your level headed thinking and integrity. You use your platform for us, the silent majority who doesn’t use race politics or confirmation bias to further an agenda. Both parties need to go back to the board and figure it out but I understand it gets crazy out there. Nobody is perfect but you broke it down near perfectly. If you find your way to Japan in the next few years, you have an IOU to redeem for a drink on me. I can’t send a super chat as it’s telling me it’s incompatible (my account is registered in the US and it’s taking crazy about Yen because I’m in Japan)
@chisled Adonis you should allow me to be your free legal advisor when it comes to things like this because there’s a couple of things you missed that are extremely important. 1. There is no law that states you have to roll down your window. Pennsylvania V Mimms is the case law on that. Next the secondary officer actually walks over to the 3rd and forth officer who shouldn’t even have been at the traffic stop and whispers “it’s Tyreek” immediately after this the officer walks over and yell “break that fucking window” “ the case I mentioned above states that officers are allowed to order you out that car for purposes of “ officer safety” also if an officer orders you to do something that they don’t have the power to do you do not have to follow. As far as the officer saying “ 25 ft” the officer is wrong. For first amendment purposes you are allowed 10 ft. 1A grants the people to have the ability to have oversight over any officer preforming their duties. As for as the officers going hands on immediately the case is Graham V Conner and it establishes the “ Graham factors” which is the criteria’s that must be met for a use of force. Tyree’s action don’t reach the criteria for a use of force he should have never even been in cuffs judging by the rules put in force by the Supreme Court. Easiest example is the knee on the back. The “George Floyd act” made that severely illegal. In fact the quickest way to make a few hundred thousand dollars and get an officer fired is to get a knee placed on your back while being arrested.
Cheetah should of been more cooperative for sure, but the cops made it MUCH WORSE.... The oath of a police officer is to Protect & Serve. Not instigate & escalate
All he had to do was follow their instructions. But he didn't, which escalated the situation. The cops are definitely in the wrong for escalating the situation. But it could've been avoided from the start had Hill not started a special "moment" that the Boondocks have gone into detail about
Excellent job, Chisled! You analyzed that disaster perfectly, step by step. Of course the media portrayed it as “police harass innocent Black man”. Tyreek was speeding and did give the officer attitude; then the officers escalated by using force and going bezerk with all the bystanders. I totally agree that all parties involved bear responsibility. Kinda cool that Tyreek shook the officers hands and told them he still supports the police! He gets hi kudos for that; those officers definitely need management or worse for their actions

@pierregreen5921 It's called failure to obey a lawful order by the cops which depending on the states can get certain amount of jail time. So to answer your question yes. I was pulled over a few years back, even though nothing drastic happened to me, I thank the most high for giving me the headspace to handle the situation correctly. I was driving home from work (at the time I was working two jobs), I was listening to J. Cole's latest album. I will admit, I did play it loud but I was tired from work that I needed something to keep me alert so I can get home. The police was parked near a stop sign, I move to the other side, stopped at the stop sign at a full stop and continue to get out of the traffic circle. The cop stopped me in a matter of seconds and said I drove passed a stop light. Now I knew the cop was lying but I played his game so I can go home. Gave him the required paperwork, him and his partner flashing their flashlights into my car to see if I had weapons, drugs, etc. which I didn't (I left my weed at home LOL). Then the cop proceeds to tell me that there was a robbery in the area and was searching everybody that was there. Another lie because it was late at night (like 1 AM) and I was the only person driving. Got my paperwork and drove back home. To this day, I STILL drive at that traffic circle to find that magical stop light that cop said I drove passed (NEWS FLASH, There's no stop light. Only stop signs) I say all this to say don't make things worst. Just do what the officer said and go on with the rest of your day because that what they want you to do: to react negatively so they can assert their powers on you. A good percentage of the officers were punks during their school years and probably using the position to get sort of revenge. I could be wrong but you never know. Stay safe y'all.
You're absolutely wrong on this one Chiseled. When you are pulled over for suspected traffic violations you are "temporarily detained" and you have to follow lawful commands from the officer, commands like roll your window down and get out of the car. If you dont, the officers are WELL within the law in removing you FORCEFULLY. Read Pennsylvania v. Mimms. You dont get to play games with officers' safety concerns. There was no excessive force used. Tyreek was acting a fool. Anyone else tried that, we'd be in jail real quick. Stop it.
We have to stop making excuses....Tyreek started everything, Follow orders. It's very very simple, these athletes think they are entitled. If he would have just followed the instructions none of this would have happened. Even if the cops are wrong with their instructions you fight that in court not on the streets. I am sorry but Tyreek is wrong and that officer for sure should not be fired. I am surprised that the race card was not thrown in as like this done with everything these days.
I actually could see it from Danny Torres point of view, but the moment he went off I was totally on Tyreeks side, even if he could have been better. It didn't have to get to that point.
This might sound kinda dumb but whats the point of buying supercars and sportscars if we cant go fast not saying that we should be going fast putting people and ourselves in danger but i think u get my point
It's for the Flex honestly, people with Money tend to buy things they don't need just because they can and hate the feeling of Money burning a hole in their pockets
Looks like you just accidentally fell into some wisdom - there is no point in having this fast a car except to flex your ego, unless you're a real car guy and wanna take it to the track or Autobahn or something.
These Cuban cops in Miami are NOTORIOUS for over escalating things. Anytime I get stopped by one of them, I immediately tell them to get their supervisor or captain out there before I hand over anything.
Bottom line is this, those officers were out of line. Like 100% out of line. Hill isn’t completely off the hook either. He could’ve been more compliant for sure but those police escalated the situation to heights it never should’ve gotten to. If I’m Hill, I’m suing the fuck outta Miami PD.
The only gripe I've got with what you said is that legally you don't have to roll your window down let alone speak to the officers. Only thing your obligated to do is produce your license registration (insurance if the state deems necessary). You don't even have to hand it to the officers. The law states that you have to show your information not actually hand it over. But if you're asked to exit the car you need to exit no matter the circumstances
Maybe not initially but as soon as he handed them his drivers license they immediately know…as too the “it could have been a fake!” Bro it’s game day right by the stadium in a 300,000 dollar car and the dude you pulled over looks an Awful lot like Tyreek Hill and his license says as such.

This is a fair analysis of the situation. Tyreek Hill is not innocent, but the officers were more out of line in my opinion. The escalation was not called for, and we should expect more professionalism and a higher will to deescalate from people with authority, higher levels of discretion, and a gun.
It’s so simply yer ultra right conservatives keep justifying officers actions
they were arguably extra with jonnu smith, not with tyreek they had every right to detain his brat ahh to do their job safely. in jonnu smith's case, try it yourself parking in front of an ongoing traffic stop on the side of the highway and getting out of your car and walking around see what happens bud lol

@@YoungUmbreon The people acting like Tyreek is an angel in this situation are just as bad.
The cop definitely shouldn’t be a cop at all or atleast stay in the office lol
Y'all be a cop see if you can do better. When you flex on someone they'll flex back simple as that. They are human beings just like me and you.
Being upset is one thing but you're still supposed to be a fucking adult. There's no excuse acting like a dickhead to someone doing their job just because you're upset especially if you're the one in the wrong.
So what? @@juggalogan
Cops getting agitated and screaming at civilians is wild...that officer needs a psych evaluation regardless of whether or not Tyreek was wrong.
@@szlava3641Officers safety does Not Come Before rights and laws . What law in FL states you have to roll your window down?

One point about the seatbelt, Tyreek was putting his seatbelt back on with the window was up. When to 2nd officer opened the door his seatbelt was off. So at the very least it would appear he is moving to exit the vehicle. This whole situation was escalated by both parties, however only one party has a mandate of how they are supposed to conduct themselves.
Despite what happened, Tyreek shaking everyone's hand (even if he might not have really meant it) is a damn good way to handle things imo

You should know why.

They knew it was tyreek they said it @ the start …
Especially if they ran his plates before the PoV officer got the call, although Tyreek should have known that the only McLarens that are allowed to speed within the complex of Hard Rock Stadium are driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (McLaren's Formula One drivers, and during the Formula One Miami Grand Prix that takes place on a temporary circuit around the stadium grounds
“I’m not gone sit in the street and hold court.” 💯 great video
I agree with a lot of what you mentioned on how both parties were wrong at different points. But no one should have to put their rights aside, because some police officers either ignore those rights, or are unfamiliar with them in the first place...or they become so determined to assert their authority in the heat of the moment, that they forget the difference between personal orders and lawful orders
Great breakdown. Love your channel. Props

@chisled Adonis you should allow me to be your free legal advisor when it comes to things like this because there’s a couple of things you missed that are extremely important. 1. There is no law that states you have to roll down your window. Pennsylvania V Mimms is the case law on that. Next the secondary officer actually walks over to the 3rd and forth officer who shouldn’t even have been at the traffic stop and whispers “it’s Tyreek” immediately after this the officer walks over and yell “break that fucking window”
“ the case I mentioned above states that officers are allowed to order you out that car for purposes of “ officer safety” also if an officer orders you to do something that they don’t have the power to do you do not have to follow.
Absolutely. I think chiseled is not trying to show that he leans too far one way or the other on the subject... keeps everyone happy

Excellent job, Chisled! You analyzed that disaster perfectly, step by step. Of course the media portrayed it as “police harass innocent Black man”. I totally agree that all parties involved bear responsibility. Kinda cool that Tyreek shook the officers hands and told them he still supports the police! Only law tyreke broke was speeding (seatbelt can’t be proved) part of the officers job is to be the calm level headed one. Yes tyreke was a lil aggressive but it’s not his job to be the calm one in this situation. The cop was on a power trip
Only stop signs)
I say all this to say don't make things worst.

Stop it.

Huh…are you okay?😂 how many times does an officer have to ask you to do something, before you do it?
The question is would they have been out of line had tyreek left his window down.
That officer needs more deescalation training
