    your rolling back flip was because you did not have it on the right mode, dirt mode will do that on pavement. Correct me if I'm wrong.

      You are probably right. I’m a little slow on the uptake and still learning.

      I did not think the bike was run without the flywheel on

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was, the first runs were without the flywheel on. You can hear it spinning when it’s on. And, it’s like night and day when it is on. I can try to get footage again.

      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, a game changer and I think it will get better from here on out. Once people get their hands on these it opens a whole new world of coolness.

    I owned that Ricky Carmichael rc as a kid. This is super nostalgic!

      That's awesome. How did you like it? I am super tempted to get my hands on one just to see what it's like. I also need to dig out my other RC moto's

    Great bike Brice. I like the colour options. The run's great, too. Even on slow speeds it looks very stable.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a very cool platform with lots of customizations available. I was blown away with how stable it is at slow speeds. Losi has knocked this out of the park!

      Thank You! Dude, this is a killer ride. It begs for large open tracks! I just got back from running in the dirt and have the batteries on the charger itching to go back out. Super fun, durable, just plain awesome.

    Congrats on the new unit. Good news on ordering yours on the 22nd and getting it today. That means mine should be here soon as well 🤗

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good luck in getting your's soon. They are a blast. I would recommend reading through the manual and understanding everything. I have a habit of trying to figure things out by trial and error but that's not necessary the way to go with this bike.

    Can’t wait for my Big Red to show up! Probably better I get to watch all the videos, so I can look like a pro when I get mine. Lol great video

      I know the feeling of waiting for something cool. My only recommendation is ready through the quick start manual. it will help ensure you have a good experience with those first runs.

    It ain't a basher, Mx riders will know the feeling

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. I'm not an MX rider. I do ride but I think there is a little here for everyone. I spent the day "Bashing" on all trains and I think it works pretty well as a basher. It managed to stay in one piece the entire day that would have otherwise sent other RC cars home in pieces.

  • @rcicons4915
    @rcicons4915 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thing is awesome Brice. Must be such a different experience to run. I have seen a few videos on it and you definitely need to find some dirt and jumps. Looks to be epic.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Keith. The more I drive it the more I am amazed at what it's capable of. I did get some proper footage of it running coming up in the next video. I don't have any dirt tracks near me. I need to find some local BMX tracks. I agree, I think this could be one of those epic RC's that has the potential to be iconic.

    Will it go on grass? Can you do a clip of that...even if its bad. No one shows that.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it actually does well on grass. It kind of tames it down and is more forgiving. I’m editing the footage from the run and will have it up shortly.

  • @AddamsPlayground
    @AddamsPlayground ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's awesome you already got it! You are right about Tamiya too, I am still waiting for a couple kits from them from pre-orders from months and months ago!
    It looks super fun to drive and I am sure I will get one at some point. I did not jump on one right away, I wanted to give it some time to make sure it was not going to me something like the Axial Ryft and look and seem super cool but turn out to be a nightmare!
    I will be looking forward to your thoughts on it from both the fun aspect and the engineering side of it to how it does!

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Argh, my original reply didn't get posted.
      Thanks Addam. I spent yesterday getting some proper runs in on the bike and I can unequivically say that it's a winner. after a day of bashing, running into things, tumbling, crashing, and just general bad driving and mayhem it's held up like a champ.
      It might be just me but I feel like the flywheel might be getting noisier. I seemed to notice it get load after running into a parked car (the car totally jumped out of nowhere). But there are no perceptible vibrations from the bike so I wonder if the flywheel bearings are wearing due to the tumbles/crashes. That being said I put that one on me and it hasn't prevented me from running.
      It does need some space to stretch its legs but it doesn't have to be pretty. This seems to suck-up what ever terrain you throw at it as a 1/4 scales should.
      It does go through batteries. I'm getting about 15 minutes of run time on each pack. So be prepared for that.
      Once I get all my hop-up parts in, I'll tear into the bike for a more critical look.
      Cheers!

      Yep, *bows head in shame* I remember thinking I should read the instructions and then got caught up in the excitement. For this particular ride, the instructions are critical to have a good experience.

      LOL, it’s an unboxing video. Thank you for sitting through 16 minutes of me yammering. There’s definitely better running videos out there.

  • @freerangehuman1976
    @freerangehuman1976 ปีที่แล้ว

    Short lived gimmick.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are some really cool videos of this running on big dirt tracks hitting triples like the big boys. I could easily see this bike creating its own racing class. They’ve worked out quite a few bugs with the rc moto’s.
      But it’s kind of a weird statement right. Is it really a gimmick, to what ends? This a hobby to have fun with. And, I can unequivocally say this is a fun ride. I just got back from running two pack in the sweltering heat and was bummed that I ran out of batteries. I was just getting into the bike, getting a feel for how it handles.
      With RC there is so much diversity that everyone can find their own niche.

    • @bowtierj

      i think it was kyosho that used to have a nitro quad with a chain. It wasnt just a truck with a quad body either.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, they had the quad and go kart. 1/4 scale anything is huge.

    I am so glad all the youtubers get everything before paying customers get there stuff and there customer service is crap wont answer on my missing body I ordered and no clue on the items I pre-ordered it is criminal at this point

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      Waiting sucks. I preordered mine from tower hobbies on the day I discovered it (6-22). I wouldn't stress too much it's been less than a month since it was announced. I have pre-ordered Tamiya kits that took more than a year to ship. Good luck with your order.

    @vrosi1963 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    since it is a dirt bike take it to a dirt rc car track as a fair test. they need to have super motard street slicks also

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, yes, yes. It was late and I couldn't wait to try it out. Next video has it running on all terrains. And they do have street tires available for order. I plan to build up a couple of different wheel sets.
