Larry, I don’t think you need to explain your recording process.
If folks do not appreciate your talent, how sad are they ?
The one thing that all of your songs show, is your love for music.
You have shared your talents , and brought us joy.
Your music touches our souls. God Bless .

Just came across this video today after watching many of your videos for the past 4 years. Larry, you are the real deal. A very talented musician and singer as validated by your many fans on youtube. Your generous gift of music is so welcome in these times. Thank you for sharing that with us and giving us a peek into your process of how it's all done. I was drawn to your videos by the display of your awesome talent and you showing us a bit of the process just confirms what I always felt in watching and hearing your videos. That what you do is truly authentic. Keep up the good work and stay healthy and safe.

I always wondered if you were using any of the Apogee products. Thanks for doing this video as I can see over time you have built up your own way of doing your productions. I know it takes a lot of time and work. It seems you have through trial and error really learned how to mix your various instruments and harmonies (vocals). I've always admired the way you can do that. I've been thinking about getting that Apogee Duet and start learning how to use my iMac's Garage Band. Thanks again.

Hi Larry, I have only been recently watching your videos. I enjoy them very much. We are the same age and basically have the same influences in music. I just want to tell you that you have inspired me to get back to playing music seriously again. There's nothing more I would rather do than play music when I'm retired which is only a few years from now. Keep doing what you're doing.

You are a fantastic musician and voice is beautiful!
I laughed when you said someone accused you of using a voiceover. I would take that as a compliment!
I wish You tube would have sent me your music years ago, You certainly deserve a lot more views and subs!

Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of doing some videos myself so anything I can learn about other people's set ups is greatly appreciated. I always figured you were adding additional tracks to get your harmonized vocals. I don't see why some people are making a big deal out of it. The pros have been doing it for years.

    Hi Larry
I ran into your videos quite by accident and it has been one of the most pleasurable experiences in the internet in a long time. You're an amazing performer and a very talented musician, very sensitive and humbling attentious to the kirks, twists and bends that are very unique and characteristic of the original recordings. They bring me back very good memories going back some 50 years on a single collection, and that is priceless.
Thank very much for what you've been doing.

    J. Elliot here,
Larry Thank You for your truly wonderful heart, full of great music. I have been following you for 3 years now. I have never questioned your integrity. So for me this was more another tutorial of how to strive to do great music and interesting videos. I will stand by your statement that you CREATE YOUR OWN arrangements, because I tried for 25+ years to play, "Wichita Lineman" and never found one that was Performer Friendly until YOURS. God Bless You.

One of the reasons I'm a fan is their is no gimmicks. Simple reverb and some compression is nothing. Your individual expression is also in the way you play. That why I don't watch karaoke singers. You made me a fan the way you do it Larry.

  • @KoolKatRecordingStudios

so Larry what youre saying is, that when I hear your Harmony vocal is that you already recorded a separate Track to begin with that Youre singing along with or is is that before you put the video up online you add another vocal track? but its one of those two isnt it? just so I understand because Im attempting to gain an example so I might do the same. Love Your Vocals though. I have a BOSS VE-20 Vocal Processor that can add effects such as delay, etc and even Harmony, do you know what I mean? Love Your Music. Im sure that whatever you do has great integrity. God Bless

That's the # on my most recent update list (not uploaded to website yet). I started building my repertoire when I knew 10-20 songs, & eventually it was easier keeping the total # at the top, vs. counting each time. When I learn a new one (or FORGET an old one!), I change the # at the top. Wish I had your equip. & video (& piano!) skills - gotta look into that iPad monitor - that would really help. Amazingly similar tastes we have if you peruse my list.

Hey Larry I watch your videos all the time you have taught me many songs and inspired me to play and learn more I can honestly say you may be a key motivating factor as to why i have landed myself a paying gig this last year and i hope you continue with what you are doing. Do not let the few nuts effect you. I'm sure they wish they had 1/100 the talent you have shown. You seem upset by them and that is just not right for you to concern yourself any further, even a super hero can have LICE.

Hi Larry. Personally, I think your vids (and your obvious talent) are great! I play and sing a lot and when I want to learn a song, I look at your posts. Thanks for that! P.S. I do, however, use a vocal harmomnizer which I think really enhances the music. I restrict it to when the original artist uses harmonies in the original track. It does not help one's pitch because when your voice is "off" so will be the harmonizer! Once again, thanks Larry.

Thank you for this informative video. I was pretty sure you did all your vocals and harmonies yourself but it is nice you confirmed it. I don't know anything about recording equipment and stuff but it seems to me like you record in a very simple technique which I like. I don't like all the fancy enhancers or wild performances. I love watching a performer simply playing and singing without all the glitz and glamer that some stars try to out do. Keep up your good work.

Hey Larry, just saw your question NOW - you didn't "reply" to my comment, so I didn't get a notification when you posted this. YES, I DO keep track of the exact # of requestable songs I have memorized 1,226 currently (not counting the ones I just play & sing backup to my partner on). I'm sure I'd draw some blanks/have to brush up on many since I cut back on solo gigs. However, I don't play many of them so perfectly, measure for measure like you! I'll post the link, if YT allows it.

You may not be famous in the traditional sense of selling tickets and selling out stadiums but that obviously is not your intention. In this venue you have your fame and your talent is appreciated. I hope you always continue to do what you are doing, and enjoying it the way you seem to do. Please filter what you listen to and you will continue to grow in your music and in your fame.
