    That 18-55m Kit lens is actually my favourite lens. I use it for video. I've used it for portraits. That IS as well. The price. Unbelievable value.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Super tempted to pick one up, but it's cheaper when it comes in a kit, an excuse for another camera 🤣😋

    Nice! I kinda spot on agree with every choice you made. Actually I really want to make this style of video in the future too. But for ranking every camera I've ever owned. :)

      Man, I'd say do it. I haven't owned enough cameras in my time to make one of these so would love to see all the cameras you have experienced up til now! And yeh we should collab sometime eh? :)

    My ideal lens on the XT-2 for street photography is the 16mm f2.8 R WR lens. Excellent lens that delivers. The other lens is the the 23mm F2.0 R WR
    . It's great for low light. Excellent review Jay. I agree with your choices.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Lucy, yes 16mm 2.8 is awesome general purpose lens for capturing a lot of atmosphere!

    Audio great Jay! Love your videos mate! Nice to be reminded of the range of lenses currently on offer. Knew the F2’s would be up there for you.👍🇦🇺🇬🇧😎

      Thanks Max! Yeh for anyone who's been in and around Fuji gear for a while, those f2 lenses are amazing!

    Can't wait seeing you trying Tamron 18-300 x mount that's coming soon 🙌

      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ahaha I can already predict that lens to be quite lacking in image quality, but boy will it be an amazing travel lens!

      @@JayRegular haha yes, but I kinda like this idea of third party manufacturers sigma and Tamron entering x mount 🙌

    Your ranking is exactly as I would even assess it. I can say that because I have the whole S Rank on the shelf. 😁 was really entertaining.
    "100-400mm unrealistic focal length for shooting street photography " unless you are Pierre T. Lambert. 😆

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And for that reason, I envy you so much xD
      Let's be honest, Pierre T. Lambert is on another level of street photography. He has already ascended from us plebs

    This is a great video for putting it all into perspective, which can sometimes be confusing. Anyway, it gives me a better picture with all the different choices. I've only been doing street photography for about a year, but now partial to the 35 f2 and 18-55 lenses. Thanks for your video, Jay.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John, the 35 and 18-55 pairing is really solid and quite possibly the only 2 lenses you would ever practically need for most situations

    The 27 pancake is lovely. It’s more prone to flaring than the Fujicrons but *chef’s kiss*

    Can you suggest a list of X lenses for wedding photography? If you have to pick three X-lenses for wedding photography what do you suggest? I need a combination that’s versatile and can cover all situations. Thanks.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't do weddings so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. I would go 23 f1.4, 18-55 f2.8-4, and 90mm

  • @nordfresse
    @nordfresse 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could have waited for the 23mm and 33mm 1.4 lenses to be officially anounced next week. I think those are basically all you need for the most part.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think even if they were to be released, I would still rank those two as A tier, purely because it will be more expensive than the f2 lenses and won't be as compact. the 33 f1.4 does look very interesting though!

    • @nordfresse
      @nordfresse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JayRegular I expect both of them to be as good as the new 18mm 1.4 and that would make a perfect set especially for video because of the lm. Together with the upcoming X-H2... I am really excited about Fuji right now.

    As an owner of 24 of the lenses listed here and someone who does his fair share of street photography, I agree with your ranking. Where I would differ is with the XF90, which I would put in the A category. Also, the XF16-55 deserves more consideration, because, while big and heavy, it does not extend that much when zoomed in and it focuses so quickly and silently. It's like having an entire collection of prime lenses in one zoom.

    • @JayRegular
      @JayRegular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh I heard amazing things about the 16-55 from owners of that lens.the 24-~83mm focal range is just solid, and all internal zoom means no dust getting into the lens

  • @benjones8977

    I disagree with your criteria! As somebody who is done street photography for five years, I don’t mind a little bigger lens. It’s more important about the speed of the lens and the speed of the photographer to get the shot then the weight.
    I have use the 16 to 55 2.8, but it’s bokeh isn’t the best for street. The lenses I use today are the 50 F2, the 90 F2 and the 18 1.4.
    The 50 F2 is fast and at 75 mm can do portrait and Street. The 90 F2 is a bit slower focusing speed, but the distance of a 135 mm can be lightning when subject is too far away. It has incredible impact and making an image stand out. One of my favorites! And the 18 1.4 I just picked up and 27 mm is as wide as I want to go for street. This lens is good for architecture as well as Street, and you can always crop a bit when doing people.
    For anybody who wants to see the end results, let me know and I’ll post my link.

      Great points Ben! As I said in the video, it's a very subjective ranking list. Shooting styles vary from individuals and I know there are people out there such as yourself who are very comfortable with sacrificing some weight for better bokeh/image fidelity. Despite putting the lenses you mentioned in lower tiers, I am still super curious about how they perform out on the streets!

      There great in the street. I’m over the fear of photographing people and I’m fast as can be at getting my camera up to my eye. I use a thumb grip to help.
      Suggest you rent the 90mm to see.
