It's super reassuring and validating to me when so many alterations need to be made. Unfond memories of school sewing classes where if a garment didn't fit it was always my fault, not that the pattern wasn't my shape
@@dawnmoriarty9347 yeah I had that same struggle for years!!! Watching costuming and historic recreation costuming helped me so much (lady Rebecca and Nicole Rudolph especially) they focus so much more on getting their individual fit rather than on the pattern itself
Thank you! It's lime crime in the colour "Saint". It's not one I normally reach for but I thought it suited the vibe and I'm so in love with it now too!
YES to Pockets! Or an Option for them! The Skirt looks amazing, love it. Youre doing great Videos, you def. deserve more Subs! Very inspiring! Just started picking up sewing and your videos encourage me to try dressmaking even as a plus size so big THANK YOU!
I would love a cup size video, because I know that patterns come mostly in the wrong cup size for me...but have no idea what to do about it! Also please pockets!
Always pockets. I am a plump petite (under 5 feet) so many of the pattern adjustments work for me. It's wonderful that you are drafting your own patterns and building a business out of necessity. Love the print of your blouse in the video. I believe I will be hunting for Halloween prints in our quilting store tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.
I never thought of using a glue stick to assemble pdf patterns! I always have to true them bc they’re a bit off and I run out of tape unbelievably fast. I used tape runners for a few patterns, but it didn’t really fix any of the shifting problems I was having. 😅
In the US, "skivvies" means underpants, so "skivvy-neck" definitely made me snicker. 😅 Also, hello from a fellow short waisted gal. It's such a difficult fitting challenge!
Generally I use calico, it's cheap and I can compost it or recycle it. Sometimes I'll use muslin or poplin. It's about trying to match the weight/drape/stretch of your good fabric. Hope that helps 😃
I personally don't care about matching patterns. It seems like a hassle and a thing that only other sewing ppl carea bout. Most of my prints are also so large scale that it seems irrelevant
The large scale prints are the trick, or small scale with big gaps of plain colour 😄 I usually don't try and pattern match, even when I do it's not perfect so I don't see the value in the effort. Also, ready to wear never bother so why should I?

Thank you! I will get onto it!
@amyofmelbourne thank YOU, but no worries because I know that's a lot of things.
Thank you for sharing your making process, esp. the pattern adjusting - have been too scared to try a SBA but now I think I understand!
Yay!!! It's definitely not as scary as it seems at first. Recommend the book "ahead of the curve" for learning to fit patterns. Thanks for watching
I really appreciate this video! ❤
I really appreciate that you took the time to watch it! Thanks!
and id love to pattern test!
I literally always want pockets!
Thanks!
Enjoyed watching off to try making 👍

I know the struggle, glue sticks are a game changer! I still use tape for corners but much less than I used to. Thanks for watching!
Amie from Perth here, I'm a newbie sewer, but would love to do some pattern testing. This skirt looks amazing and can't wait to buy :-)
Thank you so much!

I have to do a double check on that word, so appreciate the translation
Pockets!❤ Please
What fabric did you use to do a mock up?

Are you currently wearing a patina blouse👀👀
Ooh well spotted! I most certainly am!
American here. Yeah we'd love to not use fractions but we can never get our sh** together to do anything that will improve our own lives. 🤷🏼♀️
I think most groups of people are like that :/
