Thank You!!! Finally a review of this film that I agree with - everyone is saying that it's "better than the first..." but I'm just there like Hell. No. The first movie was epic with great dialogue, mystery/intrigue, perfect chemistry between Sherlock and Watson, a good balance of action and proper "detective work"... I could go on. On the other hand the second film: choppy plot, even choppier dialogue, loads of over-the-top action sequences, the great chemistry between the two main characters that I loved in the first movie just seemed overplayed (I could just about hear the director shouting "give me more" at those two, like if the homo-eroticism was a titillating undercurrent in the first movie, in the second it seemed more consciously "acted", overdone and therefore incredibly fake), the whole film continued at a hurtling pace yet seemed to drag on with no pause for contemplation (except for the last 15 minutes which was much better, but still not great). I mean common, the plot was essentially this: smart guy tries to start war to profit from selling arms - and they're trying to sell that as the work of supreme intellect! I mean yes he does not "leave any evidence behind" but essentially the oversimplified plot left no mystery to draw me in, not to mention the two Massive loose ends that they failed to tie up - overall, Really was hoping to love this movie but came out disappointed.
Yeah if you find fucking abracadabra shit interesting. The second movie is better cause it ain’t got that stupid plot about ruling the world with blackwood in power. People who are dumb (like you...) and don’t look at the little details are not ready for Sherlock Holmes. Don’t talk shit you don’t comprehend.
I agree. When he has too much fun and no one gives him reigns or a clear strict direction to follow. It gets out of character. The same thing happened with Iorn Man.
