Am from Kenya, living here. When I was in college, I tried to date black American sisters. I was horrified. I had to fly to Kenya after my graduation to marry one of the tribes lady and later brought her here. We have raised adult children here, she treats me with total respect and enjoys serving me as her 1st born boy, now that our children are grown adults out of college. My local church reflects on our lifestyle as a model of excellence in marriage relationship. I see a big problem in the African American community with regard to relationship and marriage, if this chronic failure in their society is not harmonized. The African American community lacks cultural and traditional values and norms to guide them. Pastors are not helping either. What I see now is a trend in black American men marrying from Philippines and other countries. Mind you, these are learned black men with degrees and decent jobs. 70% of women in the church and community are single mothers who have attitudes that prim their unproductive behavioral characters. Something needs to be done in the black community.

I didn't learn this but saw this when I was 23 yrs old in the military. I've attended funerals for fellow Marines who killed themselves over relationship issues with American women. I've seen fellow Marines and Sailors suffer from abusive military wives and it opened my eyes on why men go overseas. Going overseas does require planning and it's different from just visiting a country. As someone who traveled overseas a bit, even some foreign women are adopting American attitudes and entitlement. I didn't learn this but saw this when I was 23 yrs old in the military. I've attended funerals for fellow Marines who killed themselves over relationship issues with American women. I've seen fellow Marines and Sailors suffer from abusive military wives and it opened my eyes on why men go overseas. Going overseas does require planning and it's different from just visiting a country. As someone who traveled overseas a bit, even some foreign women are adopting American attitudes and entitlement. This is true. You’re a better option for them so in return they’re more cooperative because they’re getting more of what they want from you than their own men. However, you can’t deny that they are better equipped culturally to bring skills to the table that make them a dutiful woman. Plus you don’t face the risk of financial ruin like you do in the US. So as a western man, you hold all of the leverage. She knows if she acts up you could easily replace her and get the exact same level of cooperation from another foreign woman. The key is to maintain your masculine frame and principles. This is somewhat of an adjustment that some guys coming from the west find it hard to do because they haven’t been doing it back home. They’ve been used to having to cater to western women. As long as they make that adjustment, they’ll be fine. The threat of losing a foreign woman is really no threat at all because of how easily replaceable they are. Much easier than in the US. You just have to make sure she knows you realize this.
