Rachel, the screen protector is supposed to break easily. It's tempered & laminated glass, it works by intentionally breaking easier than the phone screen, that way when the screen would otherwise break the protector breaks first and distributes all the force throughout the protector, spiderwebbing that instead of your screen. They're a brilliant idea.

I have a screen protector and i sat on my phone and it cracked and then I dropped my my phone and then it cracked even more. So I think when you screen protector cracks you need to get a new one. (And I still have the screen protector)
