Whenever there's an argument about who the greatest player ever is, one thing they have in common is they are ALL compared to Gretzky. That's how you know he's the best, and always will be. The greatest ever, #99. It was a dream come true watching you and Messier play in a Rangers uniform together. Thank you, Wayne.
You all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
My favorite hockey player ever, nobody can top Gretz in my book...and an even better person than a hockey player. No better ambassador in the history of hockey for the sport. THE GREATEST
I was born in '88 and because of that, I caught him in the twilight of his career. I thought that he was overrated because there were other players that were playing at a higher level than him when I started watching hockey as a kid. It was not until later that I realized what he did for Edmonton and LA and what he did for the game that he deserved all the accolades and the recognition especially in his final game. Great one: Wayne Gretzky!
Honestly, this is what I think about Gretzky. In today’s NHL, he definitely wouldn’t get 92 goals or 215 points in a season, but if he played today, he would be averaging 100 points and leading the league in scoring every single year. He is the greatest of all time because no player dominated their era anywhere close to the level that he did.
People don't realize that the 2 seasons prior to gretzky retiring he finiashed with 97 and 90 pts and this is when the league was bogged down by the trapping systems that most teams employed. With a worn out body in his late 30's thats saying something.
Was there any reason in particular why the Rangers wore dark blue? Back in 99 home was still wearing white. I realize it was Gretzky's last game but it's still a bit odd since they weren't 3rd jerseys.
99 retiring in 99 is classy and epic
No idea how this only has 755 views. Worth every second.
I grew up in Edmonton and was lucky enough to see Wayne play there as a kid. He was a true gentleman on and off the ice.
+frost251976 c'mon man, I'm a huge rangers fan, but that's just disrespectful.

Long time since comments, 28:00 is epic. Useless piece's of shit in Edmonton now. That's how you sacrifice to win.

He should've played a little longer.
And Jagr's still playing!
raredreamfootage he retired at 48 hi I’m in 2047
Still playing at age 50!
They should have let Gretzky win it
It really would have been cool had he blasted in the game winner on that late rush.

Home team choice but it’s submitted prior to the season starting or so I believe.
Gretz probably wanted to wear blue for his last game. The rangers and penguins weren’t gonna tell him no so
4:45 probably the best player on this ice here tonight... hahah what? and the other guy comes in and shuts him up
Christopher Reeves @16:52?
