Above all, the movie is just so fucking bizarre. None of the characters, dialogue or situations feels genuine or earned and so it's hard to care about anything.
It couldn't be more obvious at this point that critics go easy on films that pander to their political beliefs...just look at those Best Picture Nominees! Good video
Just saw this strange one. I haven't seen a movie where the sympathetic victimized lead character fire bombs the police, since First Blood lol. If old Mildred isn't suing for defamation of character, then I could easily see her offspring doing something to get murdered by their spouse...which is what really happened. That may be why they felt the need to add "raped while being murdered" by a stranger. Nothing blends with slapstick comedy like homicidal sexual assault of a young girl. This played like a Cohen brothers movie edited by the Farrelly brothers.
Yeah I heard how great this film was suppose to be so I went to see it and was like wtf is this shit.... It amazes me how this is being nominated .. in Burges is a fantastic film
Thank you for the recommendation, The Dark Knight. I'll check out In Bruges, eventually. I enjoyed this director's more playful side in Seven Psychopaths.
The name says "suck" .. so was glad to hear a reasonable review rather than having to watch it. -- It's only likely to be watched, and reviewed, by those who can get over the "pretentious title" hurtle.
Thank you for watching, Indy Jones. I know that a lot of people search "[Movie Title] Sucks" these days, when looking for negative reviews online. So, I added "Sucks" as a video tag, but I'm reluctant to use that phrase, even if a movie makes me angry. Take care!
Actually that's just a coincidence. I was saying the name "Three Billboards .. " tells us up front that the movie will be bad. But I was curious about the actual content as it did seem to get some attention. I used to watch all the art-house kinds of movies back in the 90s and early 00s .. occasionally you'd find a gem, but I finally got fed up with these kinds of purely pretentious titles. They intentionally say "boring" and "pedestrian" because you're supposed to watch them for meaning .. which they typically fail at .. particularly in recent years. So, thanks for volunteering to be force-fed this poop so I didn't have to, but still got to hear their point. :D
I'm surprised you didn't mention the ex-machinas: The scene where she's 5k short, the random excess of fire extinguishers, and after the billboards are burned down a useless character shows up to fix the problem, then disappears.
You hit the nail on the head with ''tonally noncommittal.'' What a painfully awkward and pretentious pile of shit this film was. Can't believe the praise either.
I get why the critics love this movie: it's modern feminism in all it's mean and nasty glory. But what shocked me was the audience approval. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who noticed how bad this movie is.
I wish sam Rockwell was the main character frankly I thought francis mcdormands story was meandering and i gave up on it during the midget dinner scene. Other than sam rockwells big scene i think this movie is just pandering and hoaky

Yeah especially with that rant about crips and bloods that doesn't fit the tone of the scene at all.

@@brucesmith54 There are so many problems with this movie I've donated my next check to its therapy.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like this movie
Not anymore. Glad I'm not alone, either.
So cringey

Holy shit, so far, everything you're saying is exactly summarizing my opinion about the film
YOU EVEN BROUGHT UP 10:50, MY THOUGHTS EXACT!!!!
Great review, dude.

Another honest review. So glad we now have an outlet that is free of agenda.
The sad thing is her daughters remains still haven't been found in 2020 😢

You're welcome, Mr. Miller. Thank you for listening.
yeah that knife to the throat scene made no sense. that's not how people would act in that situation
Wow I had no idea people hated this film so much. It’s one of my favorites. I’m sorry you found it so distasteful
America is rotten.....it's sedition from the British crown, was a desire for freedom to murder and rape native people and blacks.....

If it were a misson to Jupiter it would have missed the target by light years.
Finally!!! I'm not the only one who hates this bullshit. Worst film of the 2010s 😤🤮🤮🤮🤮
