People who say this phone is lagging based on it using the Tensor chip simply haven't used it.
Either that or they're using a launcher that isn't optimized
@@ardoin_337 good point!
I just switched from a OnePlus 12 to the pixel 9 pro xl and the OnePlus 12 is noticeably faster and performs better imo
@Chuchin619 I have the OnePlus 12 and P9P XL. I agree but still can't put down my Pixel but I still rock and use my OP 12 daily as well.
@@CoachD77 Im sticking with pixel more now, OxygenOs is so smooth, but the UI is looking more and more like iOS. That's the main reason I left, I don't need a daily reminder.
I love my Pixel 8
Same. Got mine like a week ago knowing the pixel 9 is already out, no regrets
I’m impressed with mine. No complaints at all. Battery is phenomenal with zero lag for MY use
My battery life on my Pixel 9 has been very similar. I'm at 4hrs of screen on time(really boring day), 8hrs unplugged, and 63 percent. Traded in an iphone 14 pro max for the pixel and the battery is about neck and neck. Usually ending the day at 70 something percent when I'm too busy doing other things to fool around on a phone. Got it a week after launch and am still loving it!
I'm just curious, what' made you make the switch? I'm glad you're enjoying it.
@@katinasoutherland7693 I've always preferred android but went back to iPhone to mix things up. It's the daily little things that add up like, no swiping back from the right side of the screen, horrible glide typing, Siri being trash vs Google assistant, and less customizable app notifications . I didn't need to change but the pixel has the same build but none of those problems and handy pixel stuff, and the battery is just as awesome with software support just as long. I have a pixel 7 too but the hardware design language doesn't speak to me much. Also got the galaxy watch ultra to replace my apple watch ultra, and it feels like I've swapped back to my preferences and kept the great hardware too. Feel free to ask me whatever!
@@katinasoutherland7693 I'm in the US and imessage is obviously a thing people still care about (not that I ever did). But my gf uses WhatsApp so I had no issues either way. With iOS 18 having RCS support it's even less of a point. Apple's walled garden has lost a massive wall.
I'm digging mine. Porcelain 256gb Pro. I'm liking the small size vs my 24 Ultra's size. Battery is great in mine, screen interactions are snappy, all my apps work fine. It's a great phone! I traded a 24+ for mine only because i have the ultra already.
@@krskadave I’m considering trading in my iPhone 15 pm for the 9 pro. My only concern is battery life
@@Schultz2013 if you're surrounded by a charging opportunity it's a non issue, if you're a heavy user. If a standard user, ie, texts, calls or some youtube, it'll go all day till about 9ish pm or a little better.
I switched from s22 to pixel 9 pro...no one can imagine what difference it makes for me personally
Jumbo J Williams. Always enjoy your content and reviews...🎉
I literally went 2 days before I charged mine pixel 9 pro, and was over 9hrs sot at about 22% battery with my regular usage on how I use it, it's been great right there with my Razr 2024.
Hey J.Will , is it possible to share the settings that's possibly allowing you to achieve this screen on time?I have the XL and I'm not touching your that screen on time. Maybe a separate video?
@@mjgeekz same here ...I'm always shocked at the amount of SOT reviewers claim they get. But I can confirm the Pixel Pro XL gets better battery life than any phone I've ever had. I won't touch 8 hrs SOT, but I can get 6 with 30% left and that's very RARE for me. I listen to music (BT) a few pics, articles, texting, 15 min of TH-cam, mixed wi-fi & cellular signal
I’ve been having the same experience brother. Thanks for your thoughts and giving pixel lovers an honest opinion. God bless you always.
The only crashes I ran into with the Pixel 9 series were when I tried to use Made You Look on my 9 Pro Fold.
I have the XL version and have incredible battery life on it. Google nailed it out of the park this year for sure!
I've got 9 Pro XL and my battery is good, but wish I'd bought the 9 Pro for size now, especially as the camera is the same, but still happy. Great phone! ❤😊
I know the deal at T-Mobile seems that I can either get the pro or the pro XL on them so where I thought I was going to get the regular size pro I started to lean towards the XL cuz I was getting a better deal for it anyways and then I went back to thinking I'm going to grab the small one and then I realized the charge speeds are a little slower via wired or wireless charging but I was kind of thinking maybe with the smaller battery it really won't be a big difference. Being the screen size the battery size and the charging speeds are different is there anything else you could think of that should sway anyone to the smaller size over the XL if they're getting it at the same price?
Kenya in first!!!
kenyan here too,how much is the current price?which platform has the cheapest pricing?
The selfie camera is the best in market
Not trying to be a hater but is it too early to give praise to the pixel battery life?
For context, I'm a previous Pixel owner (pixel 7) and from experience, my pixel started showing battery degradation somewhere around 3-5 months after purchase. The battery drain was equally as bad as a Samsung after it's 1 year mark.
Im only sharing this because I see many reviewers say "best pixel yet"...and that's a kind of obvious since it's new. I actually want pixel to win but after my experience it was unreliable due to the battery and overheating.
Can someone chime in? I am always curious to know if this is the year for pixel but it also just feel too early to claim problems have been fixed.
This year the Pixel's Tensor G4 processor is still being fabbed by Samsung like previous years. Next year the G5 will be fabbed by TSMC, which is known to have the best processes. It should help for heat dissipation, so if you're waiting for a better Pixel experience, the G5 will likely be a superior CPU.
@@hermanwooster8944
I see...., do you own any of the pixel 9 models? Im not expecting much in terms of high performance. I want to like pixel but I'm hesitant to give this series a chance due to negative past experiences. Do you think it's too early to say this series fixed connectivity and heat issues?
@@Tony-u9x1f It's too early to tell, and sorry, I don't own any of the 9s.
@@hermanwooster8944 agreed. Thanks for chiming in though
@@Tony-u9x1f np! Hope it helps.
Got the base pixel 9 with 256GB bcuz i didn't wanna wait an extra week for the pro but got the 9 256GB cheaper than the 128GB pro
Bought that one at launch too, amazing value.
@@smartphoneconversations Google fi 649 256GB
I bought the 9 Pro to vote with my wallet. I want Google to keep making smaller Pro phones. I've been forced into a large phone for Pro features for the past 5 years and I finally have a choice.
You're spot on about wanting a smaller device with all of the features, I traded my S24 plus, for the Pixel 9 Pro to get the 5x zoom in and a smaller body, and I chose the 9 Pro over the iPhone 16 pro for the extra screen real estate because of its smaller front camera cut out, but to be honest if the S24 or S24 plus had a 5x zoom camera I'd still be rocking Galaxy not everyone wants a 6.8/6.9 inch screen. ✌🏾Brotha J
Ugh, I'm coming from a terrible Galaxy S21 - that phone has been so gimped. 60 hz refresh, 25 watt charging. I paid too much for it at the time. I have the P9P Pro XL and I think I just want the 9 Pro too
To the Pixel haters and benchmark strokers: Tensor G4 is similar to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but more energy efficient. Is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 a laggy chip? No. So stop with the bs.
Can't wait for Android 15 to push battery life even further
Black Pixel 9 Pro user here. Came from the 8 Pro and Pixel 7 before that. Battery is a massive improvement. Performance is smooth. Form factor looks good, but I feel the sharp edges aren't as comfortable in the hand as the older Pixels. The size is more manageable, but personally I wish they had gone slightly larger... 6.4 or 6.5 inch would be perfect. Great all round phone though.
I've had the phone for about a month now. It definitely has improved greatly on battery while using the phone compared to my pixel 8a, however I'm still seeing heavier than normal battery drain on standby, while it's not in use. I keep my locations off and while I sleep(usually midnight to 6 am), I'm seeing about a 6% drain. To me that's a bit since my OnePlus 12 only drains 2% in the same time. Hopefully a system update will improve that. Other than that, there's no other complaints that I have
Ill get one if it compares well with the S25. We are comparing like for like right?
Really!!!! U know good well You're not selling the XL. You're more likely sell the pro than an XL
I don't experience any lag with my pxiel 7 pro let alonn this one
The 7 pro feels faster than the regular 7
It's funny you posted this J. My P9PF getting better battery life than my P9XL
Wow.
@@smartphoneconversations yes the fold gets great battery life
someone has both pro and xl? lucky people i always watch every pixel phone review hoping one day i will afford my first pixel device😅
Woah! How you getting that kind of battery life! I watch TH-cam, browse Twitter, and my battery life is 5 hours of SOT max! That's with high res and not full res enabled either. I wonder what I'm missing here...
Love that you are always rocking the bible app too!
I love mine so far. I have been waiting on this Pixel to do a phone like this forever. Have you had problems with Bluetooth range?
So far it's great got the black one upgraded from the 6pro
Iv never owned a pixel phone but this looks nice
The geek in me,wants to buy a Pixel 9 Pro but i already own a 13 Pro and a Nothing Phone(1) 😓.
And most important, Tensor G5 will probably TSMC build so it wouldn't be smart to spend money, right now, for something i don't need.
It hope this Pixel 9 serie will sell good, all around the world, even if Google needs to fix some issues.
Loving my 9 Pro in Hazel! Coming from S24 Ultra! Build quality in pixel is amazing this year! Hope they keep this for a couple of years.
I struggled between those 2 and chosen 9 pro I hope I won't regret it 😅
Why’d you give up the S24 Ultra?
I just love the Pixel 9 Pro. I had the 2, the 5, the 8 and I'm glad I switched from the 8 to the 9 Pro.
Awesome phone. will be holding this until the Pixel 12 Pro!
Thanks for your reviews. Great narrating voice, honest, spot on.
