A Massive thank you to @AltrusianGraceMedia for bringing to life 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe. A lot of research was needed on this one and It turned out better than I expected. He desired peace above all, when the emperor asked him to join the imperium his only request was that he bring peace to kiavahr and deliverence, to which the emperor replied he could bring order but peace was another thing entirely. Makes a lot more sense that he was willing to do all the evils of the great crusade when you look at it through this lens. The emperors dream would bring about true peace not order. Their dreams were the same. That is also why i believe they got along so well. It also explains his true rage at his brothers for betraying the imperium, explained by arghal tal as even more frightening than the demons of the warp themselves, more pure, "no it was not rage at all, this was wrath in physical form."

@@megafeendirk9616 To that end, I think Corvus may have once again been on to something that not even he realized: as he had already glimpsed a part of what actually goes into the Primarch, what he exhibits in "Shadows of the Past" may be an example of what the Primarchs were meant to be, all along. Am willing to bet that Corvus will be the first to realize that a Primarch was designed to switch between a physical and warp form for war on either front. Most other Primarchs handicap themselves by choosing a side. This is based off the speculation that all Primarchs are warp-born souls of ancient human myths given physical form by the Emperor's hand.

Corvus and the Emperor had a strong connection to each other, and no doubt that they were both the Light and Dark. Neither were are good or evil, but both needed to each other for the light to shine brighter and darken the shadows. Perhaps the Emperor could relate to Corvus need for justice and to destroy oppression that mankind desperately needed after the Age of Strife, and perhaps the Emperor saw a younger version of himself within Corvus.

The relationship between Corax and the Emperor is some of the best counters to the idea the Big E saw his sons as nothing but tools.
There were plenty of Primarchs that had toxic relationships with him, and the Emperor was absolutely a 'big picture' guy that would sacrifice anyone for his goals, but he was still a man, impossibly more of man than any other, and that meant he had emotions and feelings far beyond the average too.
It's just unfortunte the first son to return in 40K was Guilliman, who no one really liked. Even then, the Emperor seems to care in his own, now God like ways.

    • @cgavin1
      @cgavin1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    • @r.cdahuman7682
      @r.cdahuman7682 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@codysing1223 while malacdor isn't always right, and lies as well, there are multiple reasons why he was probably right
For one, he's one of the only Ones in the imperium prior to the heresy who knew about Chaos. He was the emperor's confidant and counsel, meaning he would most certainly be aware if the emperor decided to tell a primarch. He also says "we" only let one primarch know.
There is also no reason at all for him to lie here, as it does nothing positive and possibly would do something negative in making sanguinus, rogal, and Khan distrust him.
Also I don't think corvus was emps most favored son. Lorgar was said to look the "most" like, though since the emperor says in Deliverance lost he has looked like a lot of things maybe it's more accurate to say lorgar looks like him currently. It can also very much be said many if not most of the primarchs shared his dream for a unified humanity, pre and post heresy

"They were brutal & efficient but oppressive & uncaring. They were cut from the same cloth as the men with whips, the men that the young boy despised..." Huh... so the young boy grew up at an abnormally rapid rate, wanting to be a champion of the people. And that's what he did until some guy from the sky said "I'm your space daddy." and convinced him to start oppressing people smaller than him, just like the jerks he grew up hating. Right...
I'm not saying that Horus' rebellion was the best way to go about things but, seriously, F*^K THE EMPEROR & his way of doing things! The last priest of the last church sure pulled the emperor's card on how things would go...

    No question, whatsoever...
Corax is the perfect candidate to be the next returning Loyal....ish Primarch unto the current millennium.
Of course, following fiercely, and ruthlessly Lorgar who finally has descended upon the fractured in twain Imperium.
The golden one blazing with a righteous zeal which none could be of want, nor will, nor choice to deny!
Lorgar, the golden, The Urizan, bringing the type of prophetic grandeur found only within the sole source of light left to the people of this void gripped Imperium nihilus. The honored bearer of the divinitatus' very words themselves has returned at last... The people rejoice!
Thus he in full legion strength, goes from planet to planet teeming full, with such "mercy to burn!"
He sets out on his patiently planned "Glorious" crusade to "save" these desperate souls.
And every last one of them will see the truth.....
Following behind him... Corax... him, actually being the one appearing far more Demon-Prince than Loyal saviour Primarch.
To add, all he brings is an ever increasing of darkness, a silent, lone uncertainty as he follows and descends upon a world.
Even Guilleman at first when receiving such alarming astropathic reports coming in is himself unsure of both the intentions, and if this is instead a Chaos and Lorgar created doppelganger of Corax only to sew further confusion and dissent!
Tell me the current state isn't perfect for such a masterpiece of manipulation, and actually explains Lorgar's absence for so long. Along with the near hopeless state of the dark Imperium making it so ripe for just the sort of thing the word bearer 's are so designed to take advantage of and exploit.
And Corax's appearance, acceptance of their creation... is the perfectly positioned to expertly compliment the story by mirroring Lorgar's deceivery, appearing so benevolent, masking his pure evil. Corax appearing so malevolent, but with not but vengeance, and defense of the imperium in his heart.
Tell me that amazing novel doesn't damn near write itself. While also being so perfectly occuring in the current, confusion soaked, split in two Imperium. With such a focus on guilleman, so bereft of trustworthy allies. And such a focus on the church, such an aversion to guilleman's very being.
Him only with demon tainted brothers being left in this time, would not even recognize the being Corax now is...
Thus must have also pledged to the dark gods, as well..
Or a clone, made to further dig into his more and more fractured purpose, seeing his once perhaps the most virtuous, noble, empathy driven brother this creature of death, darkness, and compassion. Finally becoming kurze after all....
What a blow to his, hope of reclaiming the emperor's dream even possible if even Corax was unable to resist the honeyed words of the ruinous powers!!!
Until he meets face to face that is.... though still remains deeply trouble by Corax willful transformation and usage of such "powers".....
    Get on it GW!!!

Pretty WILD that this is "All Fiction" right?...;)
From a differing perspective & angle, view the previously written WH40K.HoHe content as a work in active deceptive inversion of particular topics/lore, -somewhat being akin to a William S. Burroughs "Cut-Up" book writing technique....
-One can be purposefully led down a pathway(s) into believing specific written events* as if being predestined, fixed, without nary the thought as to its original fluidity, nor the TIME-LINE in which those events take place!

-BE, CREATE & externalize the good you want to see/feel in the world. Yes, some/present day evil(s) MUST be, exposed, dealt with harshly & with haste...

Shrike stepped outside deliverance and came to the ravens yard.
The ravens yard was the graveyard for all raven guard who died upon isstvann. Every friend corax personaly knew, buried in there home at peace. Shrike wandered among the graves respectfully. Though his upbringing was one of a former gang scout,he grew up knowing legends of corax. The one who saved deliverance of tyrany. And its the ravem guard who uphold his legacy. Shrike then noticed someone...and his blood ran cold at the sight. A shadowy figure, with furled wings of darkness...no. it was a man taller then any astartes. Shrouded in black.
    "...corax?" Shrike spoke weary.
"...i had thought this small graveyard would be abandoned one day. Im glad i was wrong."
Shrike kneeled before the primarchs apparition.
"Forgive me my lord...i am a disgrace. I have yet to find a worthy master of shadows."
The deliverers shade turned around and faced him,and smiled.
"You are more worthy to lead my chapter then you will ever know, kayvann. my friends are gone. Ive failed my family. Ive failed my father. I failed my friends. But i will not fail humanity. You are a good man kayvann. A trait almost alien to the inperium of today. Be what you were in nature. Be the guide to those lost in the shadow. Be the one who leads the sons of Deliverance to free others. My axioms apply to all things. They can change. My time grows short,my hunt for lorgar and my brothers continue. And if you do see the lion or guiliman, pass on to them a message, will you?"
    "...with pleasure."
"Tell them...i am sorry. And that i hope they can make a better future then what the emporor and chaos attempted for humanity. Victorus aut mortis, chapter master."
"And in the darkness do we guide the oppressed to liberty." Shrike spoke resolute.
Corvus vanished. Shrike saw a raven upon a tree, fly away, and smiled.
"I do not think myself worthy my lord...but i am glad i know my life is not wasted."
    To be continued...
