You did an amazing job editing this all together! I'm sure if something like this aired back in the 50s, kids would've lost their minds. This would've been the television event of the year!
LOVED this mashup. I loved George Reeves Superman and could never get enough of it in reruns. He was MY Superman until Chris Reeve came along years later (and even then they both shared the honor, with George just becoming Earth-Two's Kal-L in my nerdy noggin). We always wanted something epic like this (I'd even pictured him vs saucers, but just one--Brainiac's) but this looked even cooler. Thanks for giving us one more trip into the Reeves-verse and an awesome one at that.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. Maybe, some day we'll get a major motion picture with a retro style Superman fighting space ships in the 40's or 50's. George Reeves and Christopher Reeve were the ones I grew up watching.
Hope you all get a kick out of this Superman and Earth vs Flying Saucers mix. It was just something that hit me last night. I thought to myself wouldn't this have made a neat movie or a cool Superman episode.
That was actually pretty good , I've seen alot of the old super hero TV and movies, before I saw your comment , I was sitting here thinking I don't remember this superman movie .🤔😁
This would have been cool what I still don't get & never will is why Lex Luthor never appeared on tis show it wasn't like they couldn't have had an actor play him instead having Herb Vigran or some other actor playing generic gangsters all the time!! Herb Vigran instead of being Legs Leamy in one episode or Georgie Gleak in another episode could have been Luthor in different episodes
A lot of fun! Really enjoyed this. Thanks so much for your hard work and creativity! George Reeves's Superman and Ray Harryhausen's saucers, a perfect duel!!
@DavidCastro-fr9sl just watched it again after seeing your comment. Thanks, this video really is total fun! To me, George Reeves is the #1 Man of Steel/Clark Kent! The Harrysaucers met their match!! 😅
What an excellent Mash-Up!! Earth vs Flying Saucers was one of my childhood favourites (along with every other movie containing Ray Harryhausen effects) and The Adventures of Superman my favourite TV show of the time. It was like acid-trip version of nostalgia.
Superman took a personal risk, to protect Humanity. He is truly a hero. Our guardian angel, sent by God to protect us. Thank you for making this video using my #1 hero.
@@CarlosFernandez-r8o Once you consider that there are some definite parallels between those two people that were probably intentionally created by the Jerry Siegel, it gets interesting.
The Great Ray Harryhausen usually did just the stop-motion animation for his films and the related design work. Except in Earth vs. the Flying Saucers where also wore the hat of Production Designer. So EVERYTHING you see visually is Ray Harryhausen. Except the actors. They just had to hit their marks and look in the right direction. All of us who grew up with George Reeves' Superman will have an affectionate place for him in our hearts. The pilot episode with the Mole Men scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid. Seriously creepy little dudes.
Also, let's not forget The Invaders,Quinn Martin's Sc-Fi music contribution to this video( plus intro of Invader's ship on earth approach..great 1967 series!!)
Thanks for this clever assembly of what could have been during George Reeves' career as our beloved Superman of the 1950s. I thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode I could of re-runs during my youth in the 70s.
"Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superdude !!!" Unfortunately he had to destroy a portion of the buildings to defeat the space creatures !!
WOW & thank you!! I had watched the Superman shows as reruns in the 1960s. If I had actually seen your episode back then - WOW I would have been so excited that I would not have been able to sleep! Thanks again!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Watched Superman on TV when I was a kid, and when I saw the ad for EARTH VS THE FLYING SAUCER in our town newspaper, I begged my parents to see it-- and I was wasn't disappointed and was a big fan of Ray Harryhausen. Bought Mad comics, then the magazine, and Famous Monsters of Filmland every month. Wonderful memories. Nice to see your mix of these two "films" (though avoid mixing night clips with day clips!- I know it's not easy). Thanks much!
Good job. The special effects were done by Ray Harryhausen. During the production of Earth vs the Flying Saucers the director went to the studio head to complain about this short bald man interruption of his work and wanted him fired! The studio head informed him that that bald man (Ray) did special effects work that no one on the planet could do, and if he refused to work with Ray, he could get another director! This was a Ray Harryhausen picture! Check the credits!
thank you so much for doing this. I understand it's a labor of love, but in reality it's time consuming tedious work. I'm sure I can speak for everyone here when I say we really appreciate your hard work. Thanks....
Thanks for a very enjoyable mash up.I remember seeing Earth vs. The Flying Saucers on tv when I was a kid in the esrly 1970s and its one of my favorites. Seeing the man of steel defending the Earth here was really neat and yes, what a great episode or episodes it would have made
My Dad and I are Superman fans and we watch the video yesterday, and it was great! Seeing George Reeves' Superman fighting aliens and saving the world, and I think George Reeves would be proud of you.
Brilliant! My mates and self(country yokels of Essex, England) used to watch Superman in the 50s and had a laugh knowing it was daft. But at the same time, liking it. George Reeves was the best Superman and the best American sci-fi superhero of all time.
Wow!! This is amazing work. George Reeves best man of steel. I grew up in late 50/60's. If this was a real TV show my generation would have freaked out. Superman vs flying saucers/aliens would have hut ratings to a new high. Always wanted Superman to face real alien villains like comic book. Again, thank you!!
That was STUNNING and BEAUTIFUL!!! Wow, I can imagine you doing a FULL 1 hour movie!!! Love to see more... Stay blessed, Everyone. Robert from daytradingwiththelight
Superman managed to crash every saucer into every important building in Washington so after the parade he was off to work some overtime at The Planet to help pay for all the damage he caused. Oh and it's amazing that Clark jumps out of a fast moving car then Superman appears and Lois STILL didn't know Clark was Superman. And you're right, Earth vs the flying saucers is a great fun movie to watch. I give it 4 buckets of popcorn out of five.
Yeah, they were so creative back then. It's amazing how movie effects varied in quality from film to film back then as well. Now, it's all down to CGI for the most part. I definitely like to see practical effects better than only CGI.
For me there is only ONE Superman and his name is, was & will always be George Reeves. I love this. I am a huge George Reeves fan ever since I watched the original episodes when I was a child in the late 1950s. With a nod to Bud Collyer, Kirk Alyn, the immortal Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain & the Superman from Superman & Lois. Subscribed.
Wow my two favorite genres Superman and Si-Fi. I would have loved to see a whole Superman episode like this. Harry Harryhausen's special effects were State of the Art back then. Great stuff. Please do more.
Thanks for the great video. I too always wished there was a monster or aliens that Superman could battle with. Superman vs. the Mole men were as close as we got to that. I still love the Superman show.
In a retro version to consider "Justice League" have Superman, Shazam and Green Lantern bringing down the Saucers, have the Flash and Wonder Woman saving people in the attack and have Batman and Robin, the Green Hornet and Kato helping the military access the weakness of their ships and interrogating the captured aliens. Oh my!!😁
Don't remember ever seeing that movie. Loved the clips. That'll teach those evil flying saucer people a lesson. YOU DON'T TUG ON SUPERMAN'S CAPE. YOU DON'T SPIT INTO THE WIND. YOU DON'T PULL THE MASK OFF THE OL LONE RANGER. AND YOU DON'T MESS AROUND WITH JIM.
The SFX in "Earth Verses The Flying Saucers" was done by. Ray Harryhausen. He also did the SFX for "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" and "It Came From Beneath the Sea" and "20 Million Miles to Earth" and many others before, during and after the 1950s.
Very cool! I still get a good feeling every time I see George Reeves as Superman. Those were the days!
Yep, "Thank you again... and GoodBYE!"
I think of him every birthday. I was born the day he died.
Classic. Only one season was in color. But back then black / white was the norm
You did an amazing job editing this all together! I'm sure if something like this aired back in the 50s, kids would've lost their minds. This would've been the television event of the year!

brilliant. bravo
Perfect!
Awesome wished they would have done that back then
With all his smarts, Superman NEVER learned to enter a house through the front door. He just ALWAYS had to come crashing through a wall. 😮😮
LOVED this mashup. I loved George Reeves Superman and could never get enough of it in reruns. He was MY Superman until Chris Reeve came along years later (and even then they both shared the honor, with George just becoming Earth-Two's Kal-L in my nerdy noggin). Nah, Chris gave us the bumbling, awkward Clark, so unlike the original material.
MUITO SHOW
This would have been so cool if they did make a movie like this in the 1950s.....EXCELLENT mash up! Thanks!
Pretty close was “Superman vs the Mole Men”. Look it up.
Be great if they made one now, today. Full on flying saucer alien invasion vs Superman.
We don't want "pretty close" - look it up.

Awww... That touched my heart. I saw the film when it came out, and watched Superman religiously.
Good job mashing 'em up!
I'm so glad I happened upon this by chance! Now that I've subscribed and shared the news of my good fortune I can make some popcorn to watch more.
