  • The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) Office of Climate and Energy hosted a virtual listening session on the MI Healthy Climate Plan Implementation: electrifying vehicles and increasing public transit priority action area. The Dec. 10 session focused on the state's goals for “electrifying vehicles and increasing public transit,” including these priorities:
Boosting EV Adoption: Build more electric vehicle charging stations, ensuring fair access for everyone.
Expanding Public Transit: Improve routes, reliability, and just access to transit and non-motorized travel.
Electrifying Public Fleets: Electrify public vehicles, prioritizing low-income and underserved communities.
Building off previous work and input, we’re continuing to prioritize and deepen our work on implementation through these listening sessions. The intended audience is anyone interested in or who has experience with a climate action area of the MHCP. This includes local governments, state government, nonprofits, businesses, community members, etc.
