Thanks for the recommendation, guys. I went with my best friend. We loved it so much, and we later took both our parents there. They loved the place too. This place will become one of our regulars. :)

AWWW! HENAN IS MY HOMETOWN! There aren't a lot of people appreciating Henan cuisine out there. It seems to be overshadowed by Cantonese, Taiwanese and other types of Chineses food. I'm glad you guys enjoy it! And I'm kinda jealous coz I haven't found a place that offers authentic Henan noodle here in Toronto. My favorite is noodles in lamb soup:)

Honestly guys I noticed ever since Carmen left OTGW, there hasn't been a lot of Cantonese stuff instead I hear so much Mandarin. But oh well it is what it is. Good job you guys.

Last year I ended up in Flushing on vacation last minute due to sudden car trouble and change of hotels. I had no time to prepare, so I stuck to my original plan and missed out on what the neighborhood had to offer.
This year is different. I've got everything booked two months in advance, and a growing list of sights to see and eats to eat in and around Flushing. Mostly thanks to Dan and Mike. If I see you two around in mid June, maybe I can spring for lunch. Some of those dishes look a bit much to tackle solo. :)

i cant believe it yay food from my home town :D im from kaifeng in henan, usually when people think of china its mainly beijing shanghai sichuan guangzhou and stuff. most people dont know of henan, but the thing is henan has soo much history! with the past emperors living there and we have a great range of food!! especially kaifeng xiaochi (snacks). we live beside the yellow river, we do alot of farming and food productions. and my city is literally called city on top of cities because the yellow river used to flood often, and kaifeng city gets ruined and covered. so people have to build a new city on top of it. its truely amazing. i miss it so much :( and really do hope more people will start to acknowledge henan because whenever people as where im from, i say henan and theyll be like "never heard of it"

After watching the video, we had to go and eat at Uncle Zhou. The recommendations were spot on. The fish was great as was the best mo shu pork I ever had. Who shows up while we were there? Dan and Mia. Dan was super nice and came over to speak with us. He didn't have to since he was having his dinner too but we really appreciated that he made the effort. I hope Uncle Zhou comped his meal. This is a lot of free publicity for the restaurant.

Many Sichuanese / Hunanese / Shanghainese Northeastern Chinese restaurants have popped up all over the island in recent years but I haven't seen any from Henan or other regions of China.
Of course, there is also local Chinese food in Singapore originating from Fujian / Guangdong which is pretty common everywhere.

Thanks for the recommendation. I took your advice and went there last night and had a great time. I ordered the same noodle dish you guy had and it was awesome although I'd like a little more of that noodle. I also had the pork with garlic sauce and a pork intestine with green and red pepper. Both were outstanding. Yea the intestine thing is not in your ordinary menu, but you might try it some time. Love this place.

A place here in Austin opened up last year, offering hand-pulled noodles, and we don't GET much in the way of good Chinese, in these parts. After seeing this so many times, and being hungry on a Sunday, I have to give up and go try it. Thanks a lot, guys!
