As a person who was in the navy I had the privilege to be part of one of these groups 26th expeditionary unit back in 03 made some great memories and friendships

I am a Marine, who can't believe that they are stripping our budget, equipment and first and foremost boots on ground. We have earned All of our titles, and pride to do what most won't. We are the best at what we do with the least or hand me downs at best, or platforms that really aren't combat effective. This need to be addressed before the caliber of true Marines changes and mind state of the world!!

The Marine Corps did away with all their tank Battalions. Now we have to depend on the Army when we come up against a mechanized element. This will cost a lot of our brothers their lives. I guess we will be transitioning to more Stryker vehicle which is mostly used by the Army. The AAV7 are way to old and will be replaced by the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. The Marine Corps has the smallest budget, the oldest equipment and we do more with less. We are self sufficient and only need to get to the fight. Semper FI.
Please provide an example of a platform the Marine Corps is or has fielded that is not combat effective.
@@nigelkhan9278 While tanks offer the Army advantages in combat in large land campaigns, they are not in line with the Marine Corps trying to be more mobile and light. Tanks require a considerable amount of logistics assistance, are extremely heavy and difficult to transport from staging bases to the front line and are expensive to upgrade.

Don't get caught up in the hype. They have the worst first term reenlistment rate for a reason. Research all branches and specialties before enlisting.

I served on USS JOHN F.KENNEDY CV-67 Aircraft Carrier. We had a Marine Corps Detachment on board. I was a Navy Storekeeper Petty Officer Third Class. Three years later I realised into The U.S Army and The 1st Marine Division brought us on board to attack The Republican Guard of Saddam Hussein. Our Marines asked me about the Bradley Fighting Vehicle as it had TOW MISSLE capability. Their LAV 25 vehicles only had a 25mn gun and 7.62 coaxial machine gun. I was a mechanical engineer on the Bradley so I said I have a vehicle ready to go for you! The young Marine Captain was ecstatic to get to use one in battle. I told him Godspeed and get some! Ooorah! Respect and honour to The U.S Marines as they torn the living dogshit out of Saddam's Forces. Ooorah! Glad to have served along side of them! Freedom is not free!
Just remember what can happen to you when you leave active duty and are treated like dirt by this regime. Don't say it cannot happen to you. Talk to a homeless veteran and see how they were treated by a hotel in New York state. Cross Roads Hotel in Orange county, NY.

Indeed. Marines only have 310 bases in other countries conpared to the 811 total US military bases outside of USA.
Where’s the new amphibs? You don’t cut capability before you get the new capability in place.
