  • Setup:
    • Create a small square (approx. 5x5 yards) using cones at the top of the penalty box.
    • A receiving player starts inside the square, ready to react to the coach’s commands.
    Instructions:
    1. The coach plays the ball into the player in the square and shouts one of the following commands:
    • “Pressure”: The player passes the ball back to the coach immediately.
    • “Pressure Right”: The player redirects the ball to the left side of the square (opposite of pressure) and shoots at the goal.
    • “Pressure Left”: The player redirects the ball to the right side of the square (opposite of pressure) and shoots at the goal.
    • “Turn & Go”: The player turns 180 degrees with the ball and shoots at the goal.
    2. Players should focus on quick decision-making, clean touches, and accurate finishing.
    Progression:
    To increase difficulty:
    • The coach tosses the ball into the air, requiring the player to control it (e.g., with their chest) before shooting at the goal.
    • Add a time limit or defender for added pressure.
    Coaching Points:
    • Encourage players to keep their head up and react quickly.
    • Emphasize proper technique when redirecting, turning, or shooting.
    • Challenge players to stay composed under pressure and maintain accuracy.
This drill simulates realistic game scenarios, helping players improve their ability to turn, finish, and make quick decisions in front of the goal.
