About Debjit:
Born in 1992, Debjit has had Shri Amal Patitundi, Pt. Shankha Chatterjee and Pt. Subhankar Banerjee as his Gurus. Debjit’s first public performance was at the age of 9 at Kalamandir, Kolkata, India. Debjit is a recipient of the West Bengal State Academy Award, 2002; President of India (AIR) Award, 2009; Pt. Prasun Banerjee Award, 2005; Pt. Nikhil Ghosh Award, 2010. Engaged in ‘riwaz’ for 16-18 hours every day, Debjit is passionately attached to his instrument, the Tabla.
