At present i have a sirio vector 4000 vertical just purchased the sirio sy 4 yagi i haven't installed it yet the antenna before vector was a gainmaster 5/8 wave the vector just a bit better so looking forward too the yagi when i get a rotater for it ....great video the yargi clearly much more gain and remember 1 s point is 6dbd so the 11 db is clearly their in the video if the meter is at 6db then 3db calibration
hello if anyone is interested i now have the 4 element yagi on the chimney, looks cool but at this moment skip is so low in holland cant hear a difference, but will make a video of the difference,i also have sirio 5/8 wave great antenna, anyhoo thanks,19 charlie tango 022 rotterdam.
i have owned a sirio sy 4, but my best antena now is a 4 element LFA YAGI , its a big diference between sy-4 and LFA yagi. very low noise and direct feed point, no gama match!
@@GeanitovIDEAS I originally wanted that antenna. However the cost with shipping to Thailand and import duty etc. Made it a 700 euro purchase... Too much ..
You can see the beam antenna has a better signal but also it depends on what type of antenna the person you are receiving is using if they're using a flat side beam you will always get a better signal than a vertical
@@michael-pw9cz,hi,what I would recommend, if you are going to the trouble of getting a Yagi antenna then a controller and electric motor, and then putting it in place, then definitely go for the 4 element yagi, there is a noticeable difference on transmission and receive, best is its only 30 euros more, best go to there web site for more accurate information, Once you experience the YAGI you will never go back to the vertical for Dx-ing, good luck, good 2021👍👍😷😷
its very nice for the money, i did buy second hand for 300 euros, it has 100w and good receiver alos good modulations with original microphone. its going hot on fm at 100w because its small foot print but its normal. 73
you cant compare beams will always work better as long as your beaming that direction i used a sirio sy-3 for a long time even 5ft from the ground it worked better but it has a much higher db gain
i want to show people how is to have a beam, i also did look on youtube before to decide to buy a beam. for me the sy-4 it was a night mare , all the time had problem with gama match and SWR at little rain jumped very high. i did try to insulate but still swr jumped in moisture and snow. for me the LFA yagi has a better quite receive than the sirio sy-4 and didnt move the swr in rain or snow. 73
The sirio 827 is more pleasing to the eye than the monster 4 element beam.Ok the beams performance is very good but most wives wouldn't allow that antenna above the house.
Hi, thx for posting very usefull, i have vertical 5/8 and i project to buy 4 elements. I see 4 elements is much better with less noise in background. Now, i am sure, i have to buy my new antenna :) 14zga13, 73 51
about yagi, i've seen that the antenna should be at least 10metter from the ground to work properly. at least in my case. if u can put higher , is much better, working better. 73. i've took a 4 element LFA YAGI FROM UK , hardly wait to put , but this will happen when i will get in Romania . will post some videos
see video with lfa 4 elem yagi, a;ways a big diference. with sirio sy-4 sometimes was a diference, sometimes not. . i dont recoment sirio sy-4 , dificult to tune and bad swr on rain
Hi, the comparison is for people who didnt have ocasion to work with a beam and in this video you have the oportunity to see the diference between a vertical 5/8 SIRIO 827 with a 4 element yagi SIRIO SY-4. its very simple: if i worked only on a vertical until now for example... in this video i see a real comparison , how the signal would be over the vertical. the yagi is on horizontal polarization 73 p.s : until i got my beam i was wondering all the time how the signal on receive would look like over a vertical antena. my best antena now in terms of yagi is LFA YAGI! over LFA YAGI only qubical quad matters!
hi, at that time i did not record antenas as a poor camera i had but believe me there are 2 antenas, 4 elem sirio sy 4 yagi beam versus sirio 827 vertical 5/8, i want to help people which might consider a yagi in the future , as i did. i did want to show the real diference on s metter in reality comparison. at the moment i work with a 4 element LFA YAGI monoband for 11metter and i'm very happy!

Just put a SY- 4 Element Beam on my tower yesterday . Night and day compared to a 5/8 wave vertical.. 10m elevation..Thanks for the comparison..

yea, i sold my vertical since i have a 4 element LFA YAGI
hi good video i have a 3 beam 11 meter yagi and a sirio higain 5/8 wave fiberglass, the differance is night and day, thanks
hi how good is the 3 element beam i cant make my mind which to get 3 or 4 plus what's the turning circle like

How is you Yagi polarized? Vertical of Horizontal?
horizontal
@@GeanitovIDEAS If your contact is using a vertical antenna, your going to have a significant signal difference being your Yagi is Horizontal.
@@ericdee6802 from propagation i always hear much better with yagi. Local qso vertical better
Great Test
How high was vertical And yagi? Thanks
both antenas 11m above the ground. i find LFA yagi much better yagi than sirio yagis
20dB entre la polarisation Verticale et Horizontale.!
nice how does it talk on 10 meters?

Thanks
Always the same error, you should never test on SSB signal meter which is not stable, you should always test on AM or FM !!
On comprend tout de suite l'interêt d'une antenne YAGI 😮
english?
Impressive 😊

Since when do wives ALLOW men to do things??? I do what I want as far as my hobbies. I don't ask permission. I love her. She knows it and is happy.
Stay single. I have 4 antennas and my wife helps even 😂

not really strong differences...... it depends what the others stations use as antennas

Really, comparing a vertical to a beam. Is the beam vertical too? No info gained here that cant be understood with common sense.
