Fault Finding - Storage Heater NOT Getting HOT

  • Matt is on site with a storage heater that won't get hot. Matt is fault finding to prove all heater elements are working correctly. It’s important to test the elements correctly as they are connected in parallel and this can lead to false or misleading readings.
    Matt was working in a controlled environment for the fault finding and at times with the front panel off and live parts exposed.

    if the element is suspect ,its a lot easier to test each element with a ohm meter / without taking the element out . just disconnect the input from the element terminal block . simple . then you can order a replacement and only have the take the bricks and cover off once when the get the new one

    Please be very careful when opening these units up. If it was manufactured before 2000 they may contain asbestos. There is a list online that has the information as to which ones are. I found this out the hard way.
