Prabhu deva did this choreography according the lady madhuri dikshit . She is a , classical dancer and evergreen actress and this genre of dance is different for her . So , prabhudeva kept it simple . Not so , much waoooo moves on this .....

rick sometimes it's the EMOTIONS that need to be conveyed through the dance-song bit WITHIN a movie (where the story is ongoing simultaneously along with the dance performance )
... try to see it from Madhuri 's perspective. .. the way she was emoting, singing with so much longing ( "pukar" ) and expressing with her eyes are the HIGHLIGHTS of this video.

The Movie Pukar (2000) is different from the movie Pukar of Big B. At 2000s remake of the movies, were not in the trend. Even Sequel of Movies except the movie Naagin, there were no trends for sequel.

It also depends upon how good the person is with searching on google and like in this case IMDB has the title 'Call' instead of Pukar, it sort of does cause confusion for someone who isn't aware it is the english title of the same movie. It's easy for me, you but may not be easy for someone else. There is a saying, what you know is easy and what you don't isn't.

On a serious note this portion was not meant to be a dance scene, the main focus was on the chemistry between the characters potrayed by Madhuri and Anil Kapoor. I think because it is a prabhudeva song and that too with madhuri, people were too focused on expecting and seeing crazy flexible moves but what most of them missed was that this was a complicated choreography and madhuri did it so effortlessly and cherry on top was her facial expressions which she did perfectly and in sync with choreography as well as lyrics. That is one of the reasons why she has such a legendary status as a dancer. Most of the dancers are focused on technique and don't pay that much attention to facial expressions which enhances the beauty of that particular dance form as well as help a great deal in conveying emotions and message. Madhuri conveys a lot through her dance and she is able to use her whole body including her face to express herself when she dances.

The reason you were disappointed, Rick (and I agree with you):
1. Prabhu Deva did not have much airtime. The focus was on the actress and he was being treated like a glorified extra.
2. He could not dance at his usual pace because he had to slow down for the actress to be able to match him. The focus was on her and they didn't want her to look bad.
You should have reacted to Chikku bukku raile for Prabhudeva's natural dance style.
@sam peres The point is for this style Pradhudeva is a better dancer. We have not seen Prabhu dance Indian Classical so we cannot comment on who would be better. Also, Rick and Korbin had been asking for recommendations of Prabhu Deva's dance videos. This was a poor recommendation from the get go.
@sam peres Are we watching the same channel? They were clearly asking for Prabhudeva recommendations not Madhuri recommendations. People kept recommending this song because they are either unaware of his dances outside of Bollywood or because they were Madhuri fans. Still makes it a bad recommendation as far as Prabhu Deva numbers go.
I have had classical training and trust me, there have been better classical dancers in the industry than her. Beyond her expressions she hasn't really displayed much skill classical dance-wise. That is not to say she may not be capable of learning. She very well may if she is given a chance.
Finally, I repeat this is about Prabhudeva's style of dancing. I do not understand why you keep dragging classical dance into this conversation.

Moreover, why was Prabhudeva brought into this song and made to do mediocre moves? They should have just let her dance. People with low standards would have been happy.

I keep coming back to this reaction because this is one of the few times when Rick and Korbin disagreed. And Korbin was right here. Everything cannot be on a scale of more awesome than before. One has to objectively react to it. This song was in a different situation and had more drama in it. There was an entire story in the song in addition to it being a show song. And it is one of the great western based songs of madhuri. So she is the show here. Not Prabhudeva. I like it when there's a difference of opinion. It adds to the real reaction feeling. No two people can react in the same way every time.
