eh, in those places women were able to drive (desert areas) it's different than the city. so they did all those scary things just the same but in smaller numbers, women have been able to drive for years now and the numbers haven't changed much although many women drive thesedays which didn't change anything much in society other than releifing guys from either having to drive them around or getting them a driver.
it was a weird rule only made in saudi that not even the saudi people nor the government wanted, they were actually more afraid of how the men would react (assault and all that stuff) rather than afraid that the women would do anything wrong....
and yes sexual assault did increase but not because of women driving but the reason for the increased assault is a whole different story for another day lol (although most of the assault is just cat calling)

Fun fact, they filmed this video in Morocco in solidarity for the women to drive movement back in the early 2010s. Women weren't legally allowed to drive, but there were still underground female street racers (talk about badasses, considering what could have happened to them caught street racing around Egypt, Morrocco, Arabia, etc).
