Nice, the earliest review I've ever seen of you. The grip seems good at the front, but too long for me (47mm is rather the max.) & probably too expensive.
I'm like you Dave, most comfortable between 45-47 mm. Not a lot to choose from, though. So many manufacturers use 50.0 as standard, and if they make shorter darts, they're 38-41 mm Taylor/Lowe bombs. My best set is an old, worn down 20 gr. Bristow/Crafty Cockney from the 80s. Just bought a set of cheap McKicks Ton Machine, and preparing to soak them in acetone, to remove the red/black paint. They're 45,5..
@@sonnyhenriksen9398 48mm is or at least was the most I would go to in the past, I think reviewing darts of so many shapes and dimensions has meant I got a little more used to longer darts. I am still not keen on darts more than 50mm but with a short or inbetween stem I can sometimes get used to them but dont find the fly as smoothly as a shorter darts does being a front gripper :)
@@DartsReviewChannel , with shorter stems, my darts stand up too much, I need a big standard flight, and a medium, or medium-plus stem. So the many 52-54 mm darts, looks like spears, and will wobble a bit for me.Oh, and I'm a front gripper too, with my ring finger on the tip of the point😉
I just got in the Kapene set last night. Shot, by far, makes the best looking darts out there...imho. I only have a couple sets from Shot, but the amount of machining put into their darts is amazing. This is definitely another great looking set.
Man, that was quick! Kudos to you. 👍🏼 As a person who grip at the extreme rear of the barrel, the shape and balance of these darts should suit me perfectly.
Black and Gold Groovy Scallops and chamfer. - A chunkier tribal weaponised Jadeite. May have to get the sledgehammer and break through the concrete in the garage to get my Wallet out of storage.

Thanks! I usually dont get on with a taper, its not there is anything wrong with it its just my fingers dont feel as comfortable as when using a thicker dart :)
Sleek looking dart I think the rear grippers is the right spot for people that are rear grippers but some could get away for front & middle grippers. For me a very nice sleek looking dart but too pricey for me £93,

It´s basically a Tribal Weapon , plus a refined grip (two smaller scallops instead of a bigger one) and an extra scoop of bling (black & gold darts look damn great imho). Very interesting darts..if I hadn´t already spent my monthly dart budget...again...;) Next month is it then...
You know they never disappoint with their Barrel designs it has been nexlevel for an long time and that's what they had to do to step out front to be noticed they definitely are the Exotics of the Dart world👍👍
Dont really like the hollowed out sections in middle but the darts are nice to look at . Dont know if I could spend that much money on them though as I dont collect darts and my budget is tight . Shot really makes some beautiful darts and if I were a rich man I would entertain buying them . Lol. The way you present your reviews Darren is amazing and keeps me coming back for more ! 👍👍
Beautiful darts and beautifully made…. The cheaper natural tungsten version appeal more to me as the grip goes right to the back of the barrel which suits me more as a rear gripper……. Although this version could also suit and the black and gold looks lovely
Just curious, I notice a lot of comments on the look of the darts. Do you actually consider purchasing because they look cool or because they suit your gripping style? Interested in hearing some comments.
Personally I like darts for both reasons, some I buy just because I like the look of them and some because I think its may suit me but as I was always a collector anyway and as I do reviews there is other reasons too, as for other people well guess it depends if they see your question, probably not the best place to be expecting replies as most dont read all comments :)
After laying off the darts for so many years and now trying to regain form , I can honestly say I went for a comfortable grip over appearance. I bought the Designa Elite V95 with fairly smooth grip, Mission Kronos with aggressive grip and Mission Nero with in between grip. Banged out a couple 140s last night with first time throwing the Neros and when I reach for my next dart I dont fumble around trying to grip it the same way every time. Today I sold the Kronos and will probably sell the Designa also. My league darts from 20 years ago were Vox Helix which had a more smoother grip but I only bought them cause my friend sold them to me cheap so I adapted to what I had . Sorry for the long reply .
@@9_nein_9 Thanks for the reply, I as well have darts that I can comfortably throw. My darts are the Joe Cullen SE as the scallop allows me to have a consistent grip. I guess if you're a collector dropping $ on darts you won't use is okay.
Great looking design and mix of colours but the finish is quite rough for Shot, almost like the cutting tools were not sharp enough and didn't give great edges. The black paint looks thick and uneven and the gold appears to be rough and bubbly. Maybe rushed through to get them on the market as soon as Devon signed
@@DartsReviewChannel I assumed that was the case. Close up images of other Shot darts usually show a top class finish. Their design and manufacture is typically top class
@@philipmckeown7974 yeah they are a little rougher than is the usual when in super close up, could be the cutting tool was due for replacement but all told I have seen much worse. I dont think anyone ever looked at darts close in the past until I started to take super close macro pics years ago, I remember back then I would get emails/messages from various brands about it saying they need to improve lol :)

@@philipmckeown7974 Thanks mate, people probably dont realise how much I have had an influence on darts with the brands over the years, I think even some of the grips you see in recent years were versions of ideas I sent to them many years ago. But even things like the images on sites and the info provided only improved after I first started doing reviews on forums in the early 2000's, and of course the people in the darts industry read such forums. Not trying to blow my own trumpet as I am sure a lot has influenced things since but I know I certainly played a part back then. I remember for example Red Dragon invited me to take pics for their products a few years back, I was not able to get there but they improved the images on their site and catalogs some time after seeing my early reviews, same with others too. I still think there is room for improvement though as now computer graphics has gotten so good they rely too much on showing CGI images which I think is a little unfair to the customers, but initially it just looks better but would rather see real images :)

I have the black special edition of Peterson´s Trinidad darts, remarkable how different his Shot! signature dart is in shape compared to his Trinidad "pencils" (small diameter, long barrel). I wonder how well Petersen will get along with his new ones...does Petersen use them already?
They are :) B+W are no longer the same company, they used to be on their site but they changed it a few years ago and now I think they mostly concentrate on Dart Trophies. I may have a set still somewhere but will take me ages to find them if I do :)

These are labeled online as rear weighted... how much does rear weighted affect the throw? I have the ravens, tribals weapon, and the ryan murray from shot as well
Its not really about how it affects the throw its more about what works with the way you hold and throw the dart. If you hold at the rear then in theory it should be better balance if its a rear weighted dart. Then it depends how you throw it, so how it flies through the air. But the set up of stems and flights also have an affect so in most cases its about trying different shapes and set ups to see what you feel best works for you. For me front or slightly front weighted works well as I hold at the front and have a slightly loopy throw.
Wait a minute.. I've been using front weighted darts for years but grip middle to rear. But maybe I need to try this? I hold my darts weird but putting my thumb either in the middle of the two divots or right in the rear divot and have my pointer finger on the very back side in the rear. I'm sold now on those

@@DartsReviewChannel From my experience it is not necessary to practice 5+ hours to be become dart player at solid level. But what is necessary you have do it periodically, daily the best. especially if you want to do it at competitive level. So if you practice long and patiently enough, results will come. Regardless of health difficulties :)
@@TomasMisura years ago I played around 3 hours a day, it was only then that I started to improve but it caused problems with my wrist and then I got other injuries so cant do that now. I try to get at least 15 mins a day though but there is times when I cant even do that :)
@@DartsReviewChannel started practicing 6 years ago 10 minutes daily and I was totally exhausted because I was in horrible shape (as an IT guy). 3 weeks later I hit my first maximum and extended training to 3 hours during weekdays to 6-7 hours during the weekends. Soon after my first tournament I got dartitis (or something like this) and started basically from the scratch. since then I have been practicing 1-2 hours daily (sometimes 4) next 4 year without any visible progress. about year ago something happened and I started making rapid progress basically on daily basis. If everything goes as expected next couple of months I can register to my first pro tournament under PDC... I have to improve consistency with hoping that my wrist is strong enough
@@TomasMisura I think its possible to over practice but what I try to do now is gauge how I am feeling on the day, if my throw seems to be working well then I may practice a little longer to try to improve the muscle memory but if its off I stop as I dont want to practice with a bad throw if you know what I mean :) Sounds like you have done well though so good luck for the future! :)

In extreme close up you see those things but not so much when looking normally.
