AquaMarine is the best dive company in Bali - we had such a wonderful time on your boat as part of Diving For Life last week! Thank you for being such incredible dive guides.
I have been in Bali many many years ago....( 1953 ) it was even better than now..... Pitty I am getting too old to go back and .....dive in the Ocean..
Isn't it increadible in the beauty that surrounds us? The world is such an amazing place and I am so happy that I am here to visit it. Thank you so much for sharing and allowing us to see what you have captured on spaceship earth. The Meltdownman
WOW, Thanks for showing all of these beautiful creatures. I am crying knowing that the oil is polluting the ocean. Hard to believe that it can't be stopped. We've got to do something about it NOW!
I do use his music on some of my videos but I don't want to overuse it. It's about time I browsed his site again. I see he's still uploading plenty of new material.
For the free-swimming stuff it's mainly because it's a large housing with lots of inertia. The housing is well adjusted for trim and buoyancy so I can often keep a very light touch on it, just to steer it without wobbling it. Also finding good spots to lean the camera on for some shots.
The video is wonderful since most of us in this world, will never go down in the ocean to see these magnificent wonders of the Sea! I am especially impressed to see all the comments expressed with respect and admiration - so many times when I read "comments" posted by people they can be filled with expletives and vitriolic thoughts! Nice to know there are still nice people on the planet!!!
+Bubble Vision Hi, your underwater video is amazing, lots of details, clear images of those tiny creatures, I love your video so much, and hope to make my own someday. what camera and lens do you use? how do you learn to this level?
+Will Bi Thank you. I just learned by shooting a lot and by reading a lot online. For this video I used a Sony Z1P camera in a Light and Motion housing. Now I am using a Panasonic GH4. You can read more at www.bubblevision.com/underwater-cameraman/equipment.htm
Most people will feel uneasy at first because it's an alien environment. But confidence builds with experience, especially over the first few dives, until it's cool pretty much all the time. Even experienced divers can have bad dives, say if the visibility is very poor or there is a strong current, but if you have the experience and training then you can deal with it. Give it a try! Good quality training is important, and a snorkelling background also helps.
Having good gear is really important to how comfortable you are. Diving is an incredible experience. Diving a shipwreck, or at night, finding yourself immersed in a huge ball of baitfish, listening to popcorn shrimp or getting thumped by a 400 pound goliath grouper, or getting checked out by a large shark - are just a few personal examples. As far as danger is concerned - you are your own worst enemy underwater.
Yes Kathy, a lot changes on the night dives and you see very different things from the day. Crabs especially and some fish that hunt nocturnally. I'm working on a 90-minute video of the Lembeh Strait that I plan to serialise on TH-cam first. Still a few months away though.
Your video was totally magnificent. Another world I would not have seen if not for your diving and internet. Thanks so much. It was wonderful photography. Awesome!!!!
Just fabulous video overall and great macro photography, especially of the pipefishes, crustaceans, and nudibranchs... thanks for posting this great video footage!
Merveilleuse richesse des océans fruit de millions d'années d'évolution mais je ne suis pas sûr que mes petits enfants pourront en profiter : quel gâchis !!!
What a great movie, we are going next year and it has so inspired me with all the close shots of marine life, we love the small stuff, my husband videos but the quality is nowhere near the shots you have taken.........awesome
@pengouin I used a UR-Pro blue water filter for the shots without lights from about 5-25m, and manually white balanced on the palm of my hand. The filter is reddish and is built into the housing.
That was awesome!!! I like how in all of your videos when you pause it says the species name! Its like flash cards, especially cuz i like to memorize and identify fish
This video was magnificent! I saw sea life I would have never imagined. It was just absolutely breath taking from start to finish. Thank you so much for sharing this. The only problem I had was I could not figure out what press cc meant to get names of the fish, otherwise I really enjoyed this video. Thanks again.
Thank you. TH-cam changed the CC icon. Now it's a small rectangle with 2 lines across it. If you press it you can find the captions with the fish names.
A little bit of both, LimpitsReef. That was about 90 mins into the dive and I was near the end of my tank, but they made a very videogenic little grouping :)
@lezvarthok Those are porcelain anemone crabs (Neopetrolisthes maculatus). They cling onto a stinging anemone for protection. Those bristles are called setae and are used for filtering plankton etc. from the water.
This video is PRICELESS, Watch over over still get SATISFACTION &SENSATION! Hard work PAY OFF, THANKS NICK 4 sharing this AMAZING PIECE. take care boy friend. P.S. my gkids do enjoy it also. Keep it up!
Wow.. fantastic .. brilliant ... incredible.!! Your films are fascinating, unbelievable and so special .!! I added to my playlist Incredible nature. Blessings. Sofía
I use Sony Vegas Pro, but I'm thinking of getting Adobe Premiere Pro as well, since Vegas Pro has some bugs. I use a Sony HVR-Z1P HDV camera in a Light and Motion housing. It's a pretty old setup now. Enjoy your course!
Oh,dear me! I was on Bali, but never visited the "underwater gardens"! Great quality in the closeups! I've never seen a sea snail (I assume this is the name?!)...grazing! Thank you!!!! An unforgettable experience watching this video!
Es bellísimo. Es increíble que en nuestro planeta exista un lugar así. estaría bueno que los noticieros diarios mostraran el algunos pocos minutos, cosas bellas como ésta.....
@thelittlecrazykid I wasn't very close, it was the lens. Garden eels are the most camera-shy fish there is. I have left my camera on the seabed filming them for 15 minutes and swum away but they STILL don't come out.

Very nice. The sheer number of species shown was amazing, and the attention paid to the little and the hidden was also outstanding. Very nice.
