The team meltdown that lasted all game was hilarious. I'd rather be on the Alistar's team than either of those two. Actually... he kinda carried the game later by getting caught out over and over and lining them up for you to slaughter. lol

Later fights I thought he was doing great. Like *someone* has to facecheck the bush and its usually a beefy top laner who can do that but in this case they've got GP so its gotta be the Ali.

This isn't comprehensive but here's a few good First Strike moments from the game. Gwen R''s in a team fight with firstike Night Harvester procs is so satisfying. One with 300+ gold gen is would be fun.

As always, loving the series! I don’t really play anymore, but watching over the past year or so has been the most fun I’ve had interacting with League.
Also thoughts on full health vlad? I know his passive isn’t the most efficient going health-to-ap, but it could be interesting.
I am probably the worst player in all of LoL and my MMR should reflect that. But man its kinda relieving for me to see that the attitude in Diamond I is exactly the same as it is in my MMR range. People lose their sh*t at around 15 minutes and go /ff every 10 seconds and dont even try to come back which is obviously possible. Also I want to learn Gwen now (and suck at playing her like I do with all the other characters). Anyway, thx for the video and your content man. I learn a lot.
i think nashors should rly be 1st or 2nd item for gwen. just the attack speed to stack Q faster
I played this build yesterday, i got 7k gold just from first strike. This might be worse than normal gwen build but it’s so much fun if you manage to make it work

I'm really curious why the avoidance of Nashar's Tooth? Just seems to fit so perfectly into Gwen's kit in place of the Shadowflame or Cosmic (I think he was gonna build). Is there a reason for that? Or just for the "full AP" memes?
Pretty much. Shadowflame is a bit earlier powerspike and generally does a good instant powerup with the flat pen carrying weight early, but it trades surprisingly much of later scaling for it. You mostly buy it either for flat pen stacking or an instant early-/midgame powerspike, while giving up scaling and utility. People generally overuse it quite a lot.
If pure AP is the idea, in recent patches most AP items give similar AP (as balance team finally figured out they have made mages so that they simply cannot perform without stacking AP), but with other scaling benefits. Nashor's or CDrive are both good examples here.

I really hate magical footwear, I just don’t see a situation where saving 300 gold is worth not having boots for the first 12 minutes of the game. You can make it happen sooner sure, but it’s a lot harder to get kills early when you can barely walk anywhere because you have no shoes.

Gwen's mana problems are a lot more prevalent in the top lane because there's much more chance for you to spam your abilities and take short trades.

This game makes the champ look unbelievably busted wow
it didn t feel like gwen uses a lot of mana to you cuz u went mid and almost didn t trade at all with zoe, when u re playing toplane if u ever pick gwen is almost for sure as a counterpick (unless you hate yourself), so u ll keep trading very often, or use abilities to push lane faster, and u ll feel ur mana going down much faster (as u said it s quite a strong ability if stacked and if u counterpicked toplane it s not hard to stack it), there are matchups where presence of mind and d ring together are not enough to keep up with mana usage (ofc as long as u menage it u wont run out but it s more confortable to have both)

While Gwen is off-meta, she's my go-to pick to completely shit on Irelia and Sylas players.
Guys anyone knows how her W interacts with other Ults? For example, you see Cait ult, you W but then she gets her CD back again so she can ult other target. It seems to be the case with every target ability, Morde R, etc...
Is this intended or just some Riot spaghetti code?
It's not exactly a specific Gwen's W mechanic.
In Caitlyn's case, her ult doesn't go on cooldown unless the bullet has exited her gun (as opposed to someone like Lux or Ezreal whose ults go on cooldown as soon as you press the button even though they also channel before it goes off). If the person she ulted dies before she shoots, her ult is available to be used again in 5 seconds because she is no longer targeting anybody. If the bullet leaves her gun, then even if the target dies and is therefore not being shot by the ability, her ult goes on the full cooldown.
Same thing for Morde. If he ults and the target goes out of vision/becomes invis (Vayne ult-Q), he can still ult someone else since the ability did not go off (he couldn't finish casting it due to loss of vision). Note that this is different from his ability going off but having no effect due to it being canceled by Morgana/Sivir E or Banshee's which will put it on cooldown.

I swear, every game I see with First Strike makes me feel more and more like everyone is gaslighting themselves into considering that rune good.
Even “good” games I see with it only generate like 1-1.5k gold, and most of that gold is generated late enough in the game that you’ve already pretty much got full build and don’t really even have a use for it or at best it’s when you’re far ahead already and then it’s just win a bit more if you’re ahead at 25 minutes. It just never seems like it does enough to be worth the loss of impact throughout the rest of the game, the damage boost doesn’t seem like it’s that much either, it just seems like other keystones can do so much more early to help you get ahead while also being influential late.
Gripes with a rune I don’t like aside, fun game to watch.
