In this special video & our last video for 2019 we review mainline steam in their finest hours during the 2019 season from January right through to December featuring each locomotive.
We sure have seen mainline steam at it's finest this year which 2019 was dominated by the return to the mainline of the early pioneers of the preservation movement like Lizzie, Bahamas, Scots Guardsman & Clun Castle all returning to the mainline after repairs & overhauls after so long some are more than a quarter of a century.
Some spectacular double headers feature very rare ones including the pair of Mayflower & British India Line along with a special reunion of Mayflower & Flying Scotsman after 3 decades.
Also featuring popular routes for steam most notably The Settle & Carlisle & The North Wales coast to Holyhead.

From 2020 as I mentioned earlier this year I will be reducing my filmings out on the mainline & visits to heritage railways as I will be putting in more time at The East Lancashire Railway next year.
However I will be out for the very rare & special one along with on days that have 2 charters trains near each other.
There are allot of things to look forward to in 2020 including Tyseley's 7029 Clun Castle's long awaited return to The Settle & Carlisle in April & The Brief Encounter special the same month & 60163 Tornado coming to Liverpool in May & September.
60103 Flying Scotsman to operate on the East Lancs more often next year on special events which more can be found on the East Lanc's website
Well that's it from me for 2019 my channel's 10th birthday celebrations has ended in grand style after an up & down season.
I would like to say to all my fans, followers & subscribers a very very happy Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Most unfortunate that your predictions have not become reality, given the terrible toll coronavirus has taken in the UK and many other nations. With Oz 20,000 km away not nearly as badly affected (touch wood and thank God), I and many others from down south look forward to again riding the rails of Britain's mainline and heritage railways in 2021.
