An honest review from a former student. Will break into four parts: Academics, Placements, hostel and culture. Academics to be true its a spoon feed system, if you really looking to learn somethhing outside the textbooks, there is no scope to do so. The lecturers are egostic and don't encourage if students ask questions. Placements: These are made up numbers, which include the students picked up by JSpider and QSpider (which are basically the institutes in Bangalore offering placements after training which would again cost 50K). The companies visiting the campus are every few in numbers, and finding core jobs for electrical and mechnacial is mission imposible. Software support and tech support profile is what you could expect the most in placements. Most of the students have secured jobs by themselves (at least from my batch). Hostel: The best part of the everything. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned every week by the hostel staff. The down side is it does have ridiculous rules but of course you can always break them if you are smart enough. Food and mess don't expect fancy stuff but let me tell you you won't get sick eating the food and mess maintains high standards of hygiene. Its value for money. Culture: As I mentioned if you are a person who looks at just getting a degree can definitely join. But something more apart from studies beyond text books this is not the place. I would have given 1 star for culture at SDMIT. The students are not encouraged to do something outside the box. Cultural events do happen in campus but again college management doesn't support participating in inter-college fests as compared to NITTE, MITE, or any other college in the region. The struggle for hosting the college fest in 2014, which was the only fest hosted by SDMIT in its history so far, we only know as organizers. Over all look out for better colleges in the area, and keep this the last option. Disclosure: I am dropout from this college from 3rd year, ECE.
Hlo even I am thinking to join this college with ECE. I got 87% in pcm so is this college a good choice or should I look for any other college. Thanks for ur comment I got little bit more idea about the college. ❤️❤️
