Description of the Hydraform Brick
▪ The ideal constitution of the mix is 60% Clay, 30% Sand and 10% Cement
▪ Width of standard bricks -
1). 220mm.
2). 180mm.
3). 150mm.
▪ Brick dimension:
1). Length 230mm.
2). Width varies depending on the mould (220mm, 180mm, 150mm and 140mm).
3). Height is 115mm
▪ IN INCHES - 9” Long x 7” Wide x 4.5” High
▪ Types:
1). Conduit.
2). Coping.
3). Corner.
4). Solid.
5). Curved.
▪ Variations of HF brick -
1). Standard brick,
2). Corner half brick,
3). Corner 1½ brick.
▪ Brick surfaces -
1). BED… the underside, recessed bottom of the brick.
2). RIDGE… the raised top surface of the brick,
3). MALE FACE… the end of the brick with an extension,
4). FEMALE FACE…the end of the brick with a recess.
▪ Weights
1).220mm = 11kg.
2). 180mm = 9.5kg.
3). 150mm = 8kg
▪ Crushing strength = 7Mpa (Mega Pascal) = 7N/mm2 (Newtons/millimetre squared). Much stronger than a standard sandcrete block.
