Goodness me, that advanced trainer's a rarity; the Boulton Paul Balliol was used only by 7 FTS at Cottesmore and by Cranwell. The only squadron to use them was 288 at Middle Wallop. Then our hero get posted to 56 Sqn at Waterbeach on Swift F.1's, only 18 of which were built. One hopes he had better luck in his later career!
