POPS MOHAMED - ANCESTRAL HEALING (WOOB MIX)

MUSIC WITH NO NAME Vol. 1 - was a wildly eclectic remix collection of quality new sounds created in 1996 from M.E.L.T.2000's rich global catalogue with massive musical landscapes. POPS MOHAMED and NY based Emma produced the album Ancestral Healing around 1993. B&W MUSIC (MELT 2000) released this WOOB remix on the album MUSIC WITH NO NAME Vo. 1.
"If one loses his or her culture, it means you're losing your identity and self respect as a human being. It also means there is a hole in your soul" says Pops Mohamed who was originally from Bemoni, a small town on the outskirts of Johannesburg. His real name being Ismail Mohamed-Jan, he was given the fond nickname 'Pops' because as a boy he used to love eating spinach just like Popeye ! Pops is widely known for his role as the Ambassador of traditional music and received international attention with the project Bushmen of The Kalahari.
