I like how the song starts out like its at its climax, then calms down like mario is trying to calm down luigi, then peach shows up and its like we used to be brothers now we're fighting to the death, then it begins to escalate luigi remembers what he is fighting for, and it gets real intense as the lava burns around them, then he gets pushed off and it ends.
Something interesting I've noticed is that Mario (the player) seems to have an opponent-esque charting. (The opponent goes first & the player parrots the opponents charting afterwards usually.) He's also on the opposite side the player usually is. (Though that may be just because Mario stands to the left of Luigi in this scenario.)

I like how in the beginning, they briefly share the notes, reflecting how they were once part of the same team. But soon after when Luigi starts singing, the notes break apart, giving Mario and Luigi their own sides. This can also be interpreted as Luigi stepping out of Mario's shadow, no longer willing to stay hidden behind Mario as said from another comment.
if you think about it, this is a very sad song when it comes to luigi’s perspective. when you phase in to the silhouette section of the song, you basically hear the song calm down for a bit, and the old melodies both Mario and Luigi are singing adds to his backstory of living in his brothers shadow. “WHY WON’T YOU DIE!?” represents the desperation of being in the spotlight for once, you can see how badly Luigi wants to be no. 1 as well. And ending off the song with “I HATE YOU!” was a fitting end to the song, it really expresses the feelings Luigi had to go through when he was, again, living under his shadow. td;lr, tired of all this yapping, I feel for Lugigi in this song, and I love how they interpret the feeling of being 2nd place in this song as well. THIS IS HONESTLY WHY THIS IS MY FAVORITE FNF MOD

if you think about it, this is a very sad song when it comes to luigi’s perspective.
when you phase in to the silhouette section of the song, you basically hear the song calm down for a bit, and the old melodies both Mario and Luigi are singing adds to his backstory of living in his brothers shadow.
“WHY WON’T YOU DIE!?” represents the desperation of being in the spotlight for once, you can see how badly Luigi wants to be no. 1 as well.
And ending off the song with “I HATE YOU!” was a fitting end to the song, it really expresses the feelings Luigi had to go through when he was, again, living under his shadow.
td;lr, tired of all this yapping, I feel for Lugigi in this song, and I love how they interpret the feeling of being 2nd place in this song as well.
