i prefer the old construct, it captures the simplicity of the game better than s&box's. They made too many details that make it look like it's a completely different map. It shouldn't be named construct. It doesn't capture the name

I just started this channel recently so I have a long history of creating other content elsewhere on TH-cam. But I wanted to give s&box content a shot so here I am!

For me, both games, GMod and S&Box are great. But S&Box, in such a short time since it moved to Source 2, has already done much more than GMod and it's not just for the obvious fact of being a better graphics engine, but because it doesn't have as many problems as Source and if it does, they are. easier to correct or improve, yes because Garry and his team, Facepunch already have experience doing things like this and also, there are more people involved in this project, not only from Facepunch and also more people interested and working on the project , there is a lot more organization, not like in the early and middle phases of Gmod, where only Garry or a handful of people caught up with the project, no. S&Box is much bigger and more ambitious than its predecessor and people PUT EFFORT ON IT. But the graphics aren't what matter to me, it's the physics and the renewed or new gameplay that fascinates me about S&Box... it's simply much more free and better.

Also Imagine if the GMOD and S&box versions of Construct were in the same world space with the GMOD version being remade to be brought up to the standards of Source 2. Facepunch could have be in separate towns on the same world space and even come up with lore for them, like maybe the GMOD Construct is a construction site for workers and S&box Construct is where they live and do their shopping.
Personally I do enjoy the older one cause of Nostalgia. The New S&box construct is far from being complete as they'll change stuff but someone is already creating a revamped version of GM_construct in S&box which looks amazing already.
I hope you become a big youtuber using s&box/gmod community as a boost (as well with other contents)

The S&Box Construct map is probably based on an actual area in Birmingham which is where Facepunch studios is headquartered, most likely in the town centre of their previous headquarters before Gary Newman announced that they had moved into a new skyscaper in the City Centre (CBD / Wall St. Equivalent) of Birmingham instead of being located in one of their suburbs.
In future map updates I wouldn't be surprised if they expand the map, add a train station and a couple of bus stops and possibly some parked vehicles throughout the map but who knows eh?
Maybe next time you can compare the map CONstruct?
How about a telephone box that sometimes teleports around the map?

I prefer S&box's version as it looks feels calm and inviting. GMOD's version always felt unnerving and as if you were never alone.
S&box's version of Construct has the potential to be bigger and better simply because there's no size limit for creating and editing worlds.
Its so weird seeing a game world modelled after a UK town
And remember, S&Box is still in development... AND IT ALREADY LOOKS LIKE THIS. So don't be too quick to judge S&Box and say it doesn't look that great because it doesn't have X thing or is missing X thing, wait a few more months. GMod is great now because it's been YEARS since it was created and it had a lot of changes and people modding that game for almost 17 years now, with a 2004 graphics engine (which aged well by the way). Just wait until it's made public and not just accessible with a "special key"... it's going to be super cool.

Unfortunately, I just don't feel the new construct captures that vibe of gm_construct.
It's far to washed out, a bit too industrial, and a bit too themed.
It's very clearly a city area, and I feel that takes away from the notable vague feeling of gm_construct.
This will make it less multipurpose, and I just don't see it getting the mileage that the original got.
On another hand, it just feels very pale and drab to look at for me.
Too much of it is just plain greys and browns, and even the water and grass look heavily washed out compared to the surreal greens and blues of the original.
