I used to like this guy LaRoyce (Kevin Atwater) on Chicago PD in the earlier seasons when he acted and talked like a normal human being but now- for some odd reason, either the producers have convinced him to do this or he has come up with the new attitude for his character on his own- he tries so damn HARD to act and talk "black" that its so annoying and bothersome that im honestly thinking about just not ever watching the show again. And a lot of you people out there may say "great" or "who cares" ... "who needs a racist" lol , but in reality im not racist at all and if im seeing this change then so are others and speaking for myself personally, I really like the show and want to continue watching so LaRoyce if you ever read this, please go back to talking like your character in say ... season 1 episode 3 "Chin Check" when you were still in uniform. You pronounced and enunciated your words and sentences in a fashion that we can understand. There were no "my homie 'this'..." or any of "dats" and you had a clean cut hair cut, you didnt try to talk with attitude. The facial expressions and body language that you give off trying to act hard like a gangster is embarrassing. You're a good actor and you shouldnt have to dance like some monkey for the network or any of its producers who are trying to obviously make the show more "authentic" by getting you to talk like you're hooked on ebonics. You actually are from a suburb of Chicago so the real way you talk and act IS AUTHENTIC. Not the stereotypical black man that have you portraying. Anyway thats my opinion and im sticking to it! Cheers :)
Did you ever stop to think that he was toning down for the show? And maybe the producers decided to just let him be him. Maybe you can’t handle the realness. Sorry to see you go but buhbye👋
