  • Aloo Matar Ka Shorba By Delicious Storm
    1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
    1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
    1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
    1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    1 teaspoon coriander powder
    1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
    1/2 teaspoon garam masala
    4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
    2 tablespoons oil or ghee
    Salt to taste
    Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
    Instructions:
    Heat oil or ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
    Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
    Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
    Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts to separate.
    Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes to let the spices blend.
    Add diced potatoes and green peas. Mix them with the masala.
    Pour in the vegetable or chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the potatoes and peas are cooked through.
    Season with salt according to your taste.
    Once the vegetables are tender, check the consistency. If you prefer a thicker soup, you can mash a few potatoes with the back of a spoon.
    Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
    Serve hot and enjoy your Aloo Matar Shorba with some crusty bread or as a side dish with rice.
