Don't get me wrong the plot, amination, character writing and soundtrack is top tier but it's not better than Attack on titan, not with season 4 coming up anyway and I like kara no kyoukai but it's nothing special tbh. Yeah its interesting and has some dark/mature themes and plus the characters are also well written and feel realistic. But that does not make it better than Attack on titan lol. unlike Attack on titan there's nothing mind blowing or spectacular about the story. The characters or anything don't connect to you on a emotional level and obvs attack on titan has plenty of action, world building and plenty of twist and character development and I'm not just saying this as an anime only but a manga reader as well.

Anyways since this video is a debate between two Shonen series considering Shonen is a very popular genre within the anime community, Attack on titan is 100% better than most Shonen's out there. Why? because its deep, original, well written and is not really cliché. The story is unique and unpredictable, many of the characters are well written and some bring light to the series for example Shasha. Great soundtrack, great twists and a lot of exciting action and suspense. Not only is attack on titan one of best Shonen's, but its one of the best anime's period and if you look at the comment section you'll find that many people agree.

Especially with all the meaning and subtext behind Deku vs Gentle. I feel that Aot and Mha should have never been compared to begin with. They are different animes in different categories. Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on titan makes more sense because they are in the same category which is bloody and gory. My hero academia and seven deadly sins is another which could have been compared because of their category

If you've seen AoT, you'd know AoT is on another level ENTIRELY. You Say Run is like the only impactful ost they have...and it sounds similar to many other ost from other shows. Listen to Call of Silence, Attack on Titan, Vogel Im Kafig, You See Big Girl, MHA ost can't even touch these. AoT is a near masterpiece, so MHA storyline doesn't come close, cause it's generic.
Rino Watson Here’s an example: Todoroki’s backstory. He would constantly be abused by his dad for 10 years. In the sports festival, he gets persuaded to use his fire, something he has refused to do. He ends up beating Deku(main character so you expect him to win)in the quarterfinals but that pep talk he was given didn’t erase those 10 years of trauma. In the finals, he loses to Bakugou cause he didn’t use his fire. He was unsure of what his fire means to him. He ends up being in this weird middle ground with his dad. He’s slowly but surely trying to move on. His character is handled very realistically and doesn’t have him suddenly make a complete 180. There are other examples but I don’t feel like writing an entire essay. Generally speaking, it does subvert typical shonen tropes and when it doesn’t it executed those tropes so well they make My hero seem fresh. It gives many characters other than Deku the spotlight and not make everything about him. He truly struggles to become a great hero. Stuff like this is what makes this anime not generic.

MHA is a show like Naruto, or One Piece in that it’s a Great Show, and fun to watch, but AOT is possibly one of the greatest Anime/Manga every made with the tiniest details like Eren’s name being named after Kruger, or Falco being related to the man named Grice in Grishas revolutionist group who was thrown off the wall to be eaten. The smallest details pay off, and that’s what makes it perfect.

I do agree attack on titan is serious and has much more emotional moments compared to my hero academia but the thing is I can relate much more to my hero academia characters than attack on titans although I love both the series. Also my hero academia although slow is somewhat picking up the pace to be better and I hope it really gets good in the future.

Attack on Titan is G.O.A.T In terms of plot, animation, character development, action, drama, mature comedy. Attack on Titan not only focuses on the main cast but the side characters as well and their involvement around the history of the Titans, AOT has been here before MHA and AOT has a better Fandom. MHA only follows one premise is to succesfully defeat the league of villains and make Izuku on the top thats it, sure it has good animation and character development but that doesn't certify it as a "G.O.A.T" MHA is only a normal shounen anime where the premise is to beat the main villain and live peacefully they dont have a do or die situation like AOT and their fandom is toxic as hell
The rumbling chapters ALONE of AoT are lightyears ahead of MHA in terms of hype, interesting plot, character decisions, plot twists, etc. I can only wonder what music they’ll use for when that’s animated in Season 4. AoT is the opposite of cliché. It is, in my opinion, the best anime because it encourages critical thinking and is very open-ended. What I mean by this is that, in the latest chapters of the manga (chap. 91-132), it’s extremely difficult to tell who’s the main villain, whereas in MHA, JoJo, and other cliché anime, you don’t even have to think and you’ll figure out who the main villain is. That’s why Attack on Titan is the only manga series and anime series that I like.

Especially with all the meaning and subtext behind Deku vs Gentle. I feel that Aot and Mha should have never been compared to begin with. They are different animes in different categories. Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on titan makes more sense because they are in the same category which is bloody and gory. My hero academia and seven deadly sins is another which could have been compared because of their category

If you've seen AoT, you'd know AoT is on another level ENTIRELY. You Say Run is like the only impactful ost they have...and it sounds similar to many other ost from other shows. Listen to Call of Silence, Attack on Titan, Vogel Im Kafig, You See Big Girl, MHA ost can't even touch these. AoT is a near masterpiece, so MHA storyline doesn't come close, cause it's generic.

Rino Watson Here’s an example: Todoroki’s backstory. He would constantly be abused by his dad for 10 years. In the sports festival, he gets persuaded to use his fire, something he has refused to do. He ends up beating Deku(main character so you expect him to win)in the quarterfinals but that pep talk he was given didn’t erase those 10 years of trauma. In the finals, he loses to Bakugou cause he didn’t use his fire. He was unsure of what his fire means to him. He ends up being in this weird middle ground with his dad. He’s slowly but surely trying to move on. His character is handled very realistically and doesn’t have him suddenly make a complete 180. There are other examples but I don’t feel like writing an entire essay. Generally speaking, it does subvert typical shonen tropes and when it doesn’t it executed those tropes so well they make My hero seem fresh. It gives many characters other than Deku the spotlight and not make everything about him. He truly struggles to become a great hero. Stuff like this is what makes this anime not generic.

MHA is a show like Naruto, or One Piece in that it’s a Great Show, and fun to watch, but AOT is possibly one of the greatest Anime/Manga every made with the tiniest details like Eren’s name being named after Kruger, or Falco being related to the man named Grice in Grishas revolutionist group who was thrown off the wall to be eaten. The smallest details pay off, and that’s what makes it perfect.

If they like deep and realistic anime, they will probably enjoy AOT more. I do believe that it is ridiculous how MHA won alot of awards, it's basically Naruto.

I do agree attack on titan is serious and has much more emotional moments compared to my hero academia but the thing is I can relate much more to my hero academia characters than attack on titans although I love both the series.
Also my hero academia although slow is somewhat picking up the pace to be better and I hope it really gets good in the future.

Attack on Titan is G.O.A.T In terms of plot, animation, character development, action, drama, mature comedy. Attack on Titan not only focuses on the main cast but the side characters as well and their involvement around the history of the Titans, AOT has been here before MHA and AOT has a better Fandom. MHA only follows one premise is to succesfully defeat the league of villains and make Izuku on the top thats it, sure it has good animation and character development but that doesn't certify it as a "G.O.A.T" MHA is only a normal shounen anime where the premise is to beat the main villain and live peacefully they dont have a do or die situation like AOT and their fandom is toxic as hell
Let's just hope it doesn't become the last season of GOT

The rumbling chapters ALONE of AoT are lightyears ahead of MHA in terms of hype, interesting plot, character decisions, plot twists, etc. I can only wonder what music they’ll use for when that’s animated in Season 4.
AoT is the opposite of cliché. It is, in my opinion, the best anime because it encourages critical thinking and is very open-ended. What I mean by this is that, in the latest chapters of the manga (chap. 91-132), it’s extremely difficult to tell who’s the main villain, whereas in MHA, JoJo, and other cliché anime, you don’t even have to think and you’ll figure out who the main villain is. That’s why Attack on Titan is the only manga series and anime series that I like.

I like both. But Attack on Titan has a more compelling story and each episode is enjoyable. So I like AOT a little bit more than MHA
