The Globalist Erased - (Citizen Erased | The Globalist Medley) Muse Cover

Matt Bellamy was quoted as saying The Globalist would be the sequel to Citizen Erased from their album 'Origins of Symmetry', this was said early on in the recording process of 'Drones', so once everybody had heard The Globalist in full, a lot of people complained that it didn't feel like a direct sequel to Citizen Erased and I guess the majority of die-hard fans had likely hyped up that general quote by Matt too much. In the context of the album's story and concept, the song is brilliant, but the middle is so damn intense, I really wanted to hear it extended.
Being a die-hard Muse fan myself, I came up with the idea to merge the two songs together, but rather than just edit the original recordings, I wanted to do a full instrumental piece that flowed together and this was the result of that idea. I had a lot of fun making this and I hope you enjoy listening to it!

This is absolutely amazing! The Globalist is an amazing piece of work but the worst part and most disappointing thing is that it could've been so much more. You did an amazing job merging the two together though and that little new part before leading back into CE again is just gold. Well done!

The most impressing thing about this song is that it just kept getting better and better. It kept taking my slightly low expectation of covers and smashing through all of my doubts.
This is an extremely well done cover, and an absolute joy to listen to. I would imagine Matt and the boys would love this, as its transitions are so damned good and your fills are never disappointing while still adding something more to the entire song.

Holy crap this is actually what all die hard fans have been wanting... I'm a fan from 2000 and loved every song (aside the 3 or so commercialized ones). Since hearing The Globalist I've been looking for ways to extend that intense middle part and your cover does it perfectly, that little solo bit from 4.22 to 4.56 is perfectly how they would extend it in a live performance (as we all know they like to extend most of their solo's/bridges).

This is awesome, but it would've been cool to work in some soft parts. Citizen Erased has an amazing heavy part, but the soft parts really show off what it is. Never the less fantastic work!

Sovereign King You can find some reviews about Drones album that say this stuff about Psycho, it (was) an old outro riff, mostly for Stockholm Syndrome.
By saying more I mean keep doing this amazing work ! Also, I'd love to see The Handler cover. I'm learning to play the guitar myself(no teachers, and stuff) and I love to watch others "like me" playing perfectly, what gives me hope that I'll get to a piece of their skill someday :) I'm messing The Handler solo part, I'm always starting it too fast, but hey, at the beginning I wasn't even hitting the right notes + other strings made the mess, now it's clean but with tempo issues :)
***** Ahh yes, I knew it was an old jam riff, I never knew Dom convinced Matt to use it for a full song though haha love it! Stick with it man, it has a therapeutic rhythm to it and it gets easier the more you do it, I've actually got The Handler 80% done and Reapers too, should be finished soon. I believe the soft part of TG would have been so much better if the Dom had played it exactly like the soft part in CE. I love how you extended the middle part in the Globalist. The song itself would sound much better if Muse extended it, but this is a beautiful cover of two of my favorite songs.
One thing I would like to comment is that all parts in this cover sound a bit separate, (I don't know much about producing or how to describe what I'm trying to say) but is there any way to conjoin it together so that it sounds like it's all playing together instead of it being separate? It's like designing a cover without adding any topaz, if that makes any sense.
Otherwise this is brilliant. I love this!
Lillyann Mena I understand what you mean, but it's on purpose, I wanted Citizen Erased to keep the jazzy/bluesy feel to the drums, especially the snare/crashes, then have it fade off into the sunset, then the Globalist section to sound brutal and full-on, total chaos, heavy metal style and then bam! Citizen Erased returns, back into the bluesy feel and almost as if the Globalist section was a passing storm or an interlude. I'd love to get a real band together and do a complete, one-take version, but I'm just a one-man band for now, so this will have to make do ;) Thanks for the kind words!

The thing that pisses me off is how some fans are offended that the heavy riff in the globalist is too short. Well guess what, not everything muse does has to be according to your desires.
