I still have this very record with the pages worn out on the sleeve booklet, but I haven't had a turn table in many years.
I lost my 38 year old son to colon cancer two weeks ago and needed a happy thought. I listened to this before work this morning. Even at 55, it made me smile. This brings back great memories.

Thanks for posting this! I hate that the fear of fat-shaming an animated fictional character has led Disney to try to eradicate this from history ;(specifically the "think thinner"song). Really, can we be grownups and allow that changes in culture can and should happen without trying to erase history?

Thank you so much for this!! I was having an off day and was really missing hearing Pooh. My family had the VHS tapes (of all 4: Honey Tree, Blustery Day, Tigger Too, Day for Eeyore) when my younger brother was little (late 80s/early 90s) and I memorized "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" so I could recite/sing it to him on car rides. I also eventually recorded the audio onto my portable cassette recorder. Alas all that technology is now obsolete and I don't have any of the media. I can sing the songs in my heads, but it's so amazing to hear everything out loud! :)

As you may notice, most of the dialogue for the 1966 film was recorded in 1965 for the LP record and the 1966 and all the other dialogue was recorded in 1966.

Here are two fun facts: 1. You may not notice but most of the dialogue and the songs from this LP were basically recorded TWICE, yes twice, one for the 1965 LP (with most of the narration from Sebastian Cabot that was not heard in the 1966 film) and one for the 1966 film with new dialogue and already recorded dialogue from the 1965 LP, sadly for the film most of Sebastian Cabot's narration in the LP was cut and re-recorded. 2. The picnic scene had it's dialogue already recorded in 1965, but not animated, meaning it didn't make the final cut to the 1966 film.

@@TheLookyus I’m 25 and I still watch parts of this classic. When I watched this video and clips from the movie, I noticed that the dialogue was recorded twice for the record which half of it was kept for the film while the other dialogue contained here was re-recorded for the film with notable differences.

    • @looneytunes9000

thememorylanechannel It’s the deleted picnic scene. While the dialogue for this scene was recorded in 1965 for the LP record version, the scene was probably never animated and deleted from the final film when the film was released in 1966.
