I went with smile direct club and had the worst experience with them.
My case was mild and they said they could fix my teeth and slight overbite within 4 months.. I was on their aligner course for nearly 2 years and my teeth are still so wonky!! The whole process was terrible, they forgot many times to send my aligners and I was left waiting for months, it was so difficult to get a hold of anyone and my gums would bleed a lot too.
I still have an overbite and when I spoke to my orthodontist they said that those type of aligners would never fix my overbite!!
Smile direct club stole my money and left me with wonky teeth and many issues.
I now have to look into other ways to straighten my teeth and spend more thousands of pounds that I barely had to begin with…

I’m literally stuck paying for a treatment that they didn’t even finish. My teeth are back to being spaced and this is just so unfair. Now I have to find somewhere else to help and that’s just another bill. If we don’t get a refund when they figure this bankruptcy out I’m suing.
As an orthodontist assistant I ran into a few people who had trays with this place and boy let me tell you something...
Yeah I saw horror stories of how bad they actually messed the teeth up with this process. I guess you really get what you pay for
There is no way I would still pay if they wouldn’t finish my treatment , is that a joke
Since SDC is out of business, can the non-disclosure agreements still be enforced?
Their aligners did not fit and had sharp edges that cut my gums. They had me come in for another scan and set of aligners that turned out to be just as terrible.
Yes!!!! I signed up back in 2019 and the first set didn’t hurt, but the next set were cutting into my gums!!!! I contacted them and they told me to put in the previous tray and wear those until they sent another set….at that moment, I was like heck no forget this. I snatched those trays off and ask for a refund. I was only a few hundred dollars in, so I got my money back. Lesson learned.
Dr nathan i have braces and my left tooth is bent backwards more than the other and one of my front teeth look longer than the other and ive had braces for 2 years and it hasn’t fixed when will it fix
the "bending backwards" can be treated in the last stage (if you dont like it, just ask your orthodontist if he/she can do something with it) and with the tooth lenght, this is not something that orthodontist can do with braces (they mesure it by the gingiva, that has to be aligned, so they can lenghten it only relativelly) and the crown lenghtening is usually done by dentist via composite restoration.
i love that in my country no one can do any aligning without proper ortho education. I have seen many cases from diferent countries where general dentist bricked up patients smile and caused root resorbtions and they were dentists!! can not even imagine how much damage would do some engeneer with 0 knowledge about that topic.
The dentist usually uses what invisalign send to them, but orthodontist sends it back to the company many times to remodel it so it can be perfect (and even then there can be unexpected problems)

Why do I have to still pay
I used SDC and fortunately no damage was done and my teeth were fixed. I didn’t have an extensive correction tho. Just a few months of correction. So sorry for the ppl who were negatively affected 💔❤️🩹
