"Whenever we play with a larger group of people we say talk to the person on your left first." I just got an image of a circle of people shushing the person to their right as they try to talk to the person on their left. 7:48
I played this on tabletopia without the expansion and I loved it! I appreciate there being a two player variant and the fact the expansion has a solo variant but honestly the appeal of the game is the teamwork which you need at least three for. I really want to play this in person one of these days, as I imagine the communication is way better when you’re not trying to use voice chat. The expansion looks cool too, I’m especially intrigued by the ballrooms.
This is one of my favorite high player count games. Cosmic Encounters (with expansions), Shushi Go! Party, Codenames, Diplomacy, and Advanced Civ are some of my favorite 6+ player ganes (that last two do not happen often due to play time, but they're a blast when they do). I want to try Captain Sonar, Dune, and TI4 as well, but have yet to do so...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this game and the expansion. I am debating between this and Between Two Cities and I think this version is winning me over with the fun room names and game trays. I freakin’ love game trays. 😂 We often have 5 or 6 players at our local game store for game night so always looking for games with higher player counts. Plus I hope the grandkids will come over and play it!
So when comparing it to Between Two Cities, which one would you recommend? The two games appear fairly similar in mechanics, though I have the feeling this one has more variety and scoring opportunities. Interesting note on player count, it is nice to have something with at least medium complexity fir a higher player count that doesn’t require so much time.
Sorry to butt in with my opinion here, but the main reason I prefer Castles is because the end shape of the castles are unique whereas in Cities it's simply a 4x4 grid.
@@EmiZViolet That’s a valid point, so no worries. I only asked because I’ve only seen a single playthrough of Between Two Cities and none of Between Two Castles, so I was curious what the newer game brings to the table - hopefully a lot more.
@@vip_2496 have you tried Zatu games. They’re based in the UK and where I get most of my games. Very competitive pricing and they deliver internationally too.
There's a new paid (ugh) app that pairs with the game and scores your castle instantly with your camera. My least favorite part of the game was how long it took to score and re-score, so its a nice option. Thanks for the video, I really enjoy this game with a wide variety of people. Solo/automa pretty good too.
What are some of your favorite games for higher player counts?
Obscurio, Skull, Coup, and One Night Ultimate Wherewolf
Captain Sonar, Mysterium, and Treasure Island :)
Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Space Base, Camel UP
7 Wonders, Atlantis Rising (2nd Ed), Scythe (5-7 is best imo), Twilight Imperium 4th
Scythe! Best at 7 players.

I got rid of sushi go party, it was too simple. Do you guys think this game is a good replacement for sushi go party as a drafting game?

The tiles in Between Two Castles are much. much more attractive in my opinion.

In my experience Amazon is the best, or having a PO box located In US that delivers to your country

I've wanted to play this game for so long but no one is interested in playing it online with me. :sob:
