For sure! Shore's History of the Ring theme was probably a huge inspiration to McCreary. You can hear in both composers' Ring Themes that manipulative, sneaking evil played on innocent instruments (woodwinds/strings).
Its funny you're going to finish when the second season comes. you desrve appulse you stock to it all the way.
