    There is no excuse for developers to release broken patches. It is just absolute laziness where they haven’t bothered to test the game prior to releasing the update to the public as usual.
    Then when there is a public outcry they pretend it was known about and they release an update in a few weeks time.
    There needs to be some law preventing broken games from being able to be sold even if that includes a further patch that breaks the game.
    I am also disgusted with Sony for allowing this instead of setting a mandate for PS5 Pro Quality on all games before they can be released including patches.
    They ultimately have the control of what is going on their platform so they need to pull their finger out immediately and do something about this total fuster. Cluck.
    Same.rubbish remedy is saying right now too that they are aware of Pro issues and as it took months to implement they need weeks to fix it now lol.
    They really think the public are stupid and so does Sony apparently seeing they keep letting it happen.

  • @MarkWSutton
    @MarkWSutton หลายเดือนก่อน

    To your point at 11:33, I’m not sure anyone has found out definitively if PSSR changes can be made at the system level without a game-specific patch. Speculation from DF and others is that developers may object to Sony making updates that potentially make their games look and run worse. So it may not be an option to broadly implement changes to PSSR for every game.

  • @gerardcolquhoun8963
    @gerardcolquhoun8963 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This also happened in Jedi Survivor with the PSSR not looking better than FSR2. The main reason I bought the PS5 Pro was because of the PSSR because I knew the hardware would not have got us much more. Sony needs to show the developers how to use it because I regret spending £700 on a pro.

    Seems to be an issue regarding global illumination techniques as the worst offenders for using pssr all seem to be games with software based global illumination techniques such as Silent hill 2, Alan Wake 2, Star Wars jedi survivor, Star wars outlaws and this game.
    Seems PSSR simply doesn't play nice with it as there's probably not enough data for it to put together an accurate image based on previous frame.
    Dlss had similar issues early on, so seems PSSR needs some training to accurately help recreate image quality

  • @mandrews6282
    @mandrews6282 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    That’s disappointing. I had just tried this one last week and it looked great as it was hitting higher internal res since it did use dynamic resolution before. After all the complaints about Star Wars Outlaws (which is also unplayable now) I cannot believe this farted out another one seemingly without even testing it. The Ubisoft patches are even worse because they remove all other options so if you liked visuals over performance you are now left with a significantly worse looking game as a result.
    The worst worst part is that everyone is getting these updates when they move to PS6. And if these aren’t fixed, or manually maintained with dev updates when new PSSR versions come out, Playstation players are stuck with these versions for eternity. They really need to get a handle on this as so many games have become unplayable. How does this even ship in this state.

    Sony definitely didn’t test their Remarkable PSSR in other third party games.
    I can give someone’s hand, that Sony made PSSR with Rachet and Clank or The Last of Us as a base.
    You right, in Sonys Exlcusives PSSR looks decent, but I see no other explanation why PSSR can’t handle third party games, most at least, that Sony just didn’t tested it properly, and due to lack of time for improvements, they released PSSR along with PS5 Pro, and now we have to deal with it and peacefully sitting and wait for Sony fix PSSR, when we don’t even know if Sony is aware of it and working on potential solution 🙈

    Why is it always that the 3rd party developers on 3rd party games are so incompetent compared to Sony's 1st party talented developers and studios of their games? The Pro is way more powerful then base PS5 and truly delivers on the PSSR for games like TLOU1,TLOU2, Spider-Man 2,Ratchet, demons souls,Horizon,GOW and others. But it's always third party games with issues. Not all of them but some of them. It's obviously not a hardware issue. Its the devs themselves. They should take notes on Sony's 1st party studios on utilizing the tools. Ubisoft also always has issues with optimizing their games properly and also issues with shimmering and stuttering.
    But at the same time there was a developer on Reddit recently that said this is totally normal because Games are using an old SDK version of PSSR and not the updated version and things will drastically improve overtime as it gets updated. Especially in the next 6-12 months he mentioned. Just hope things get better.

      Why are games developed exclusively for the system by studios owned by Sony running better?!?! The answer is in the question my guy

      Stellar Blade's use of PSSR is better than most games. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is among the best. Dragon's Dogma 2 still has some technical issues, but it always has and is a huge improvement in both image quality and performance compared to the base PS5 version. I have a short video on my YT channel of it.
      Some developers are just throwing something together and throwing it out there. Ubisoft is notorious for releasing unfinished products and fixing it months later.

    I cant really see it. can you show it again but stop moving around so much so we can really focus on the shimmer your talking about? Im not denying its there, its just difficult to see on a compressed youtube video, especially when your moving around so much

      Really? When 1st came out was only 30 fps than updated to 40fps. The 60 fps must of been recently added. I got to reinstall and check. The highest was 40 at the time even with the first dlc too

      @@SpartanGoku this is completely inaccurate, it’s had a 60fps performance mode since launch. Stop spouting nonsense you clearly know nothing about.
