Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt...twice. My front driver side regulator snapped at the welding points and had to be replaced for the annual government test. The regulator cost as eye watering $180 dollars and much struggling to replace. It came with this little round plastic piece which I presumed to be a bush behind the cog. Wrong. The window took ages to lift and lower so I took the whole bloody lot off again and removed the bush. Everything now works fine and I have a working window again. And a spare white plastic thingy that I have no idea what's for. Oh, and I think I left a 14mm spanner inside the door frame; it make a rattling noise when i brake or accelerate. So the door card will have to come off one more time...in the next century I think!
