DIY MIDI music box using 8 CD stepper motors

Long long time no see. I am learning to make something that can play music by itself. so this will be the start, i hope so. :D
in this project, i used Arduino uno to receive midi signal, then send it to 8 CD drive stepper motor, so the rotation of motor will make some interesting noise. Hope you like it :))

What an excellent idea for a resonant chamber. If you're struggling with the chirping, I've found that switching to a teensy (with optocouplers) solved it for me. I think the Arduino struggles with timing, but I think it's awesome the way it is. Great job 👍

Brilliant work! I'm trying to do the same thing, but every time I try to compile to the Arduino, I'm told that pitchVals was not defined. I added "int pitchVals [0];" and it seems to be OK to compile and the board receives MIDI, but the motors don't run. Did you have to amend Jonathan's code at all to make it work?
