For the last two years I use Avenger 150 Street, which never serviced in showroom or outside. I change oil 20w50 servo myself at every 3000km. Average 50km/l. Battary replaced at 20000km after 2yrs. My former bike was Splendor. So far no problem. The expected chain sprocket life is 25000km. Feel a bit heavy at courtyards. Easy to ride at normal speed.(50±10 km/h)
Hi vaiyya.. I have an avenger street 220 bs4 and have ridden it for 30000 kms. I have the same model as yours and the colour variant is same too.. I love to ride it as it is too comfortable and it has a considerably good accleration when compard to RE classic 350. It has a good exhaust note too. But I had to change the back tyre once at almost 22000 kms due to leakages. And regular maintainence of this bikes chain is really important and I do it at around each 500 kms interval. I loved your video very much vaiyya, and appreciate your each points.
Thanks for your kind words brother, it means a lot. You guys keep me going, I am returning to TH-cam soon, maybe this month itself. Plz keep riding and keep in touch. Follow on Instagram for quick answers on dm. #doitallguy
I have an Avenger 220 cruise, No breakdowns yet. You can always use a sealant as a precaution for punctures. Also, the Cruise edition is more comfortable than the street edition(test drive and check it might be a different experience for y'all), the seating style and the handle are way better in cruise.. Also going on non-tarmac roads in mountains it is good to have a bike with spokes rather than alloy wheels. Also to everyone reading this when roaming in your city please at least wear helmets but when on the highway or outside your city please get all the protectors, at least get cheap protectors which have some kind of certification as something is better than nothing. A good video nonetheless.
Hi bro. I also bought the same machine on the same year i.e 2016 just 8,9 days before the demonitisation. And iam also from uttrakhand haldwani. And u solved my query once. Bro, i won cruse 220, but i install tube tyre SELENT inside my tube , which will never makes your tyre puncture... so, cruse is better than street... One more disadvantage on street is for offroad ridding, alloys may get crush, where on spoke wheeles your spoke absorbe the shocks first before it hit your suspensions...
All true. But thats why I always ask whats the purpose of the motorcycle. If you have to do off-roading or if you just have to do long rides all the time. I always recommend the Cruise 220.
You are welcome buddy. You made a really good decision. Now just take good care of this machine and you both will be very happy together. Keep riding brother.
Bro street or cruise......I like cruise...but I am buying for maximum city and weekend long drives...I worry about tubed tyres on cruise too.. will it be a problem
@@monishkumardurairaj3038 Go with Street man. I think its worth it. You will be riding in the city a lot, for that, Street is golden. You can also do some weekend riding.
Hi buddy, I am planning to buy a new Avenger 180 Street. But, after reading reviews many are saying the oil cooled version - Street 220 is more reliable. My usage is mostly city ride as well as occasional 100kms highway runs. What I want is reliability and comfortable riding position. Has anyone tried increasing the height of the seat? Will that makes the drive a bit more composed. I had Royal Enfield Bullets and honestly does not have the patience to look after those motorcycles which are having too much problems (I had Electra 4S and Std 350). The only other option is Avenger, but when you ask anyone, the feedback is very poor resale value, braking problem, skidding problem, looks like a toy cruiser etc. This makes taking a final decision confusing. Your views please.
Sorry for replying late brother, was unwell. And yeah I always suggest to go for the street 220, as there really is not replacement fot displacement. more CCs mean more peace. the motorcycle is known for its comfort whether its 180 or 220. you can try different aftermarket seats to increase the height, many like to do so. I have a classic 350 with me and I seldom ride it. my advice is to go with your heart. at the end of the day, they are not going to ride it, you will. so do what 'you' want. REs are known to make you a mechanic. Avenger has been good to me for the last 2 years. with occasional hick-ups. watch my other videos, you will be able to make a sound decision. cheers mate.

First of all, thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Now, coming to your query, the Cruise has the better ergos for long rides. I would invest on the Cruise one if I were you. And lastly, I am from Uttarakhand, a pahadi. But my wife is from South. Although I didn't get a chance to visit. I am planning to visit South for sure. Its heavenly there. Riding 220street from past 2 years.. The problems I faced are not covered (may be difference in riding style/expectations) Bad breaks.. Stock tyres needs to be updated.. Higher RPM's have vibration.. 19BHP is not adequate for 220cc.. 😥..
Yeah, maybe coz of riding style maybe. Tyres are going good. And yes, power is low, coz of detuned engine. And thats a good thing. Coz bajaj makes the rough engines, thats why pulsars go harsh in time. A detuned engine is a bit relaxed. And vibes are almost not there on mine. But I do ride relaxed when on rides.
Try different engine oil maybe? And use NGK spark plugs, also when you change your plugs look at them, if they are white in colour then your carb is air rich, and if it's too black and dirty then fuel rich.
@@TheOnlySaneGuy Do you have any recommendations? I have heard good feedback from "Motul" (searching now) and hopefully that should give a smile on my face 🦸

Yes. Why not? Take a test ride. Ride for a little long. See if there is any unnecessary vibration. Also, check the service record. If everything is working fine then 40K is decent for a 3 year old bike.

The only problem to Install the windshield is you have no space left. We have bolt, black cat charger plus fog lights switch. I wanted to install is there any way I can that. If we change to cruise handle it will cost me 450 + 1200 to 1500 extra for getting the wires (clutch, brake, accelerater, disk brake). Plus on turns and traffic the street handle works better.
There is a solution for that as well. Get this type of handlebar mo wire change needed. Plus more mounting options. Here: th-cam.com/video/V6ATacvuLPg/w-d-xo.html
This amazing legend motorbike Avenger. An amazing comfortable with a good balancing motorbike, specially for the low center of Gravity, at-least much better than Himalayan!! With a good acceleration pick up for a cruiser motorbike and a beautiful backrest, the best affordable long journey bike for common Indian riders.
Proud owner of this amazing creation... Avenger 220 ...since Feb 2013. Do u have any idea what is the max age of an Avenger ? Mine looks well maintained till date.
Well, let me put it this way. It all depends on how you ride and why are you getting it? If Highway Rides are your thing and you will be spending more time on the highways than in the city then go for 220 Cruise. You will only lose a bit of mileage over the Street 160 but the ride comfort is unmatched. On the other hand, if you mostly want to ride in the city with only weekend rides on the highway than the Street 160 is more than capable of doin so. Plus it will be lighter on the pocket too. Also, a key point to consider is what you are riding as of now and how is the riding stance? For instance, I was riding a Honda Stunner and it was pretty committed for a 125CC, when I switched to the Street 220... My mind just exploded, I thought it was the best posture for a bike. Fast Forward to August 2020, I sold the Avenger and got a Benelli leoncino 250, and it is more committed than the Stunner 125, it iwas awkward for a while, now I love it. So it also matters what you are switching from. Hope I helped. This is the longest reply I have ever given, in the hindsight it would have been better to just shoot a video. Anyway, let me know if you have any doubts and plz consider SUBSCRIBING. Bless you.
Good content, good information, especially about the diff in cruise and street version. Planning to buy one, already booked a Jawa but already got a 2017 Avenger street 220 on trial. Concerns? I'm 6'2. Anyways, good work!
At 6'2 you might have a little trouble on avenger. Basically the knees come in the way of handlebars. Thats the issue. But if you are considering, I always propose to have a long test ride. To get the wheel of the bike.
theXplorer Hey, Yes you’re right the handlebar was bothersome but I got it turned a little upwards and all is well now. Fuel meter is incorrect most of the times but the motorcycle is kinda growing on me as I have it for a few weeks that does for a long test ride. Jawa showroom opens on 31 Jan here. If I don’t like it I will go for the Avenger with ABS, not sure if I’ll get a street or a cruise.

Sir I like avenger 160 street so I am thinking to buy but I am being refused just because of kick starter , so I asking from ur side can I buy it , do I get problem many times
Brother, I feel you. Let me provide you my 2 cents. Motorcycling is both Passion and a way of transport. If you are passionate rider, follow your heart. I have seen people buy old pulsar (first gen) coz it has a significance over the new models. Its all about passion that way. If you feel connected to the motorcycle in any way, you will decide for that motorcycle only. Coming to your case, If your heart is set on Bajaj Street 160, go ahead. The kick issue wont bother you too much. Its not always that it creates a problem. Just take good care of it. On the other hand if your heart tells you different, go with it. In case of a motorcycle, heart always wins.

Well these are the basics: 1. Use good Engine Oil. 2. Keep the bike clean. 3. Learn a little bit of mechanical works. 4. Change your air filter foam on every service. 5. Use engine flush every 5000 kms. 6. Park mostly on the Center Stand. 7. Do not park directly outside in case of rain etc 8. Clean and Lube your chain every 500 kms. 9. Wear as much as riding gear as you can. 10. For 1 kms or 100 kms, Helmet is a must.

Try motul engine oils. Specially 5100.

Meri ko 5 saal 20k km hogaye . Abhi bhi charm h bro
Hi I wanted to buy Avenger but confused to buy 160 or 220 cruise, pls guide on...
Bless you.

At 6'2 you might have a little trouble on avenger. Basically the knees come in the way of handlebars. Thats the issue. But if you are considering, I always propose to have a long test ride. To get the wheel of the bike.

Hey,
Yes you’re right the handlebar was bothersome but I got it turned a little upwards and all is well now.
@@kunalarora5145 To get the most out of Avenger go for Cruise, you will be sacrificing on tubeless tyres, but it is a better ride in terms of comfort. on street you get tubeless tyres. but please do a long test ride on Jawa too, if possible. Cheers mate.

Can u please tell us which motul oil is preferrable ?
Well, its funny, coz just today I got my bike serviced and I put Waxpol Engine Oil in it (pretty lame right?). But someone wanted to know about a budget engine oil under 400/-.
Anyway, if you want to play it safe, stick to 3100 (20W50).
But if you want to experiment, Motul 5100 is really good.
Hi, if you can tell me what is vibration level of this bike on speed around 100km/h? Is engine smooth on that speed or feels stressed?
At 100 it is smooth, at 110 it is smooth, at120 it gets vibey.. (use a good synthetic engine oil for high revving).

Hi @theXplorer, Awesome Video, you'r having a gr8 riding experience.I own Cruise 220 from last 1 year & covered 9k kms by having 3 long rides of approx 500 km (return) trips and a daily commuting, but yes as you said in this vid., I always have a fear in my mind of puncturing of my rear tire, because I had an 3 punchers till now (2 happened for long ride) and literally that sucks. Since then, I always carry extra tube with me because some puncher guys did not have 220 rear tube available with them. Actually I am planning to install Tubeless Tyre on my cruise 220. Is it possible to install Tubeless on my Avenger Cruise 220???
Yes man. It is doable. I had a friend who did it. Ask your mechanic or bajaj workshop. They will let you know. Otherwise there are lots of bike modification shops..try there.
Need your advise in general ,I am about to buy avenger 220 Street which is almost 2.5 yrs old and has run about 17000 km ,what do you suggest so I will be sure that I got the right deal .
anywhere around 50k, depends on the condition and history. how is the engine. take a mechanic with you.
Thanks ... 1st time i see the best details about avenger....
What is the difference between 220 Cruise and 220 Street? Which is best.? I’m planning to shift from Yamaha Enticer to BAJAJ Avenger 220 Cruise...
Please Suggest me Brother...
I have made a video on the topic, but the audio is fucked up, still if you can hear what I am saying in the video, here it is, I will definitely make a video with better quality audio in the future : th-cam.com/video/gybTx3qK-SE/w-d-xo.html
Please provide link/name of Wax that you are using for the rusted parts or to protect them.
I use different brands man. And to be honest, I just go to amazon and xBhp and read about the product and then i order it. Thats my way. Lol.
Very nice video. One advice required. For 90% city use do you recommend 160 or 220?
Street 160. Decent power for city. Weekend rides will be a breeze as well.
@@theXplorerRS thanks for the quick reply.
@@vsriga82 sure man. Anytime.
220 he le bhai chahe city ho ya highway
Awesome video buddy. I have 220 cruise, can you just suggest some specific service refinements that can increase the performance? Mine is already 12k and running.
Well these are the basics:
1. Use good Engine Oil.
2. Keep the bike clean.
3. Learn a little bit of mechanical works.
4. Change your air filter foam on every service.
5. Use engine flush every 5000 kms.
6. Park mostly on the Center Stand.
7. Do not park directly outside in case of rain etc
8. Clean and Lube your chain every 500 kms.
9. Wear as much as riding gear as you can.
10. For 1 kms or 100 kms, Helmet is a must.
agreed. will go for 220 avenger now
Thats a good choice mate.
Bhai kindly Tell me, Strange jerking noise comes when i press 5 gear on 40, 42kmph, or4th gear on 30, 35 kmph. Is that normal? How can I eliminate it?
Shift a little higher. 5th gear at around 55. 4th at around 45.
@@theXplorerRS is that Jerking sound is normal?
@@gareebtravelleraniruddha Thats not jerking sound. The bike is tall geared, so you have to shift longer. you cannot shift gears at low speeds. thats all.
@@theXplorerRS Thanks Buddy...
Yes bro i am proud owner of avenger 150 street and my top speed 125.
Well, welcome to the family brother. Keep riding and be safe.
Really
My first bike was avenger 150 and that 's top speed was 103..
@@thesm1273 oh thats great.. now what are u riding?
Now i riding apache 2004v race edition. 1800 kms done on this bike. And I'm happier than my old bike.
May i know the top cruising speed? where you can ride without vibrations and not feeling any stress to the engine.
At around 80 the bike is relaxed. No vibes and no stress on the engine.
Avenger or Yamaha FZ
Which to buy?
Purpose? Buying for what reason? Will be travelling with a pillion or not? Long rides how often?
Long ride and off road riding
Will this bike climb Ladakh/Leh with a pillion and luggage ?
It sure will. You don't need to worry about that.
But what's about its ground clearance.?
Buddy one question is it comfortable for people above 6ft? Im 6.1 and i was thinking of a cruiser and Avenger was my first choice, my thinking is that my knees will face upwards when i sit and make me less comfortable while riding, and i will ride it on highways and City. So please help me deciding
Although, Avenger is not that well suited for tall riders (specially the Street one). But Cruise might be comfortable for you. But PLEASE PLEASE, just try it out first. And since you are going to buy a new motorcycle, check out what to do and what not to do before buying a motorcycle here : th-cam.com/video/EgEAcQm007o/w-d-xo.html
Don't forget to take a long test ride.
Hey buddy... Amazing video I would compliment you by giving a video a name "Biopic of legend - The Avenger"
Whoa man... that is a great honor to this video. Thanks a million. Keep rocking brother. And keep riding.
@@theXplorerRS could pz do me a favor. I request you to do review on Dominar. The similar way you did for Avenger.
@@ashwinhatkar3523 i wish i could man. But i dont have a dominar. Will find a channel for u for sure though.
@@theXplorerRS thanks
SUPER MAN...that was a genuine motto vlog...Enjoyed it...informative indeed!
That means a lot brother. Thanks for taking the time for this. Stay in touch.
Just Bought The New 2019 Avenger 160 Street ABS😍😇😇
Man, congrats. Enjoy the bike and love it like it deserves. You will be really happy with it. Keep riding and god bless you man.
@@theXplorerRS Thankyou So Much Sir😊
Peace✌️
And please make a video on Avenger 160 Street ABS If Possible ☺️
Bro, even I'm planning to buy it but little confusing between pulsar 150 and avenger, which one to finalize.
@@srinivasms8167 bro you have to compare yourself. If you want comfort, go for avenger. If you like naked commuter, go for pulsar.
But plz take a test ride if both.
Pratik can you explain why you took the 160 as against the 220?
Bhyi, I want to purchase a bike, but confused which bike I shud take. Someone suggest TVS160rtr,4v and others Bajaj 150 street, after watching ur video, I m changed to 220 , yaar mileage me kitta fark pdega...please help
Dekho bhai, sabse pehle apna purpose set karo. Aapko bike se katna kya hai? Agar bohot speed me chala ke traffic me ulti seedhi ghusa ke nikalni hai toh apache rtr 160 is best, shorter wheelbase, easy to flick in traffic. Mileage bhi thoda better milega. Bajaj avenger 150 ab nahi aati hai, 220 ya 180 ka hi option hai. Agar city me jyada chalani hai toh 180 lelo, agar long rides karni hai toh street 220.
@@theXplorerRS thank you so much yaar for reply......
I am new to bike....so tvs is good na.....wat about disc brake , both wheel or only front is good??
@@deepakraj-xg4lz If you are a new rider, take both discs. But as a last resort, take test ride. Of both the bikes, avenger is a bit special. Take a long test ride, ask a friend, a relative. Ride them for an hour. Learn the difference. Then decide.
I recently one-week ago bought 160 Street... Mostly I ride in city only... Is it OK to ride 160 street anytime for 200 or 300 km...?
sure man. no issues.
Please tell me, can we change the tyre/rim of cruise 220 with tubeless tyre. As I like 220 cruiser. But want to have tubeless tyres.
Very good machine, itne paise me isse badhiya cruiser bike nhi hai boss
Exactly.. Thanks man. Check out other videos as well.
@@theXplorerRS jarur Bhai
Bhai ek question hai aapse.
Avenger 160 mai air cooling hai and 220 Street mai oil. Which one is good?
I am thinking for 160 but confused
Both are almost equal. 220 will be more cooler to ride but its a bigger engine as well. air cooling is enough on 160. both are almost same concepts by the way, albeit a little different. go with 160. Keep in touch and keep riding, Also, something new and big is coming, follow on insta to be in constant reminder. instagram.com/doitallguy/
