I can assure you there are non-disclosure agreements they sign but some people really are shit and don't care about this and sell info or spread fake rumors

i know a kpop idol because his dad and i are friends since childhood. staff spreads rumors because sasaengs pay A LOT of money for information. he tells me and his dad that he never uses his phone in front of staff because he just can't trust them after a friend was betrayed by a hair stylist and ended up having to leave the group. he is also never alone with any staff and always makes sure to be in camera view when around staff edit: wanted to add, he says the sheer number of staff is absurd. They could easily do with 1/4 the staff that is busy roaming around the building.
Id say idols like your friend should try to shake up the industry like how certain celebs in hollywood have done. He should try to weed out good staff from the bad, He could setup a fake harmless rumor like texing something juicy to a friend in their view to see who is spreading the rumor. Then he would have concrete info on which staff did it, get them fired etc and try to slowly secretly befriend newer staff to see if they will be loyal or distrustful and play the same games with them. Its not hard to get info from Twice's staff. They are a bit questionable actually. Their managers are very sweet but the other staff members are weird and would probably leak their address for a U.S nickel. It is very easy to get their phone number, and location. I don't like to spread rumors but their hair stylist is one of many staff members that can't be trusted. I have my own reasons to come to that conclusion.

to staff it is a part time job, company /work culture is partly to blame for this because it can turn angels into devils fairly easy. Let me set it up for you. You new employee happy to do your job, maybe this was even your dream job, ill use bts as an example. You become staff you love it first few days but as sheduales get heavy harder and packed you like it less. To the company, the fans and in some cases the idols you are basically nothing, invisible. All the glory on screen etc is taken by the idols and the company while you who probably did all the big work to ensure your idol suceeded gets zero credit, you dont even show up on the end credits of mv or movies etc. That might leave you abit jaded or not. Then you add on the very very hard work, you work 12 to 20hr shifts everyday the company treats you like garbage because as staff you are expendable can be replaced at any time so you arent valued and it shows, you have a problem? health or otherwise your manager or higher up dissmisses it and tells you to get to work, if you dont you get written up, docked pay etc or fired and that could invvolve a black list so getting fired from say bighit will show up on your resume at jyp or sm and they deny you. So all of that makes you feel less attached to the job then you add on the low pay you get working there, this isnt like hollywood where staff or managers can get as rich as their celeb. No you get barely enough for miminum wage yet you have to slave and be pushed around 24/7. Then you have the last straw say one of the members of bts has a bad day and takes it out on you could be entirely a mistake, we all are human and make mistakes shit happens. That could be the straw that broke the camels back if all the other things didnt, so you take the precieved or intentional disrespect and say fuck it im spreading rumors and taking bribes from saseangs. There might be few staffs who may be in dire need of money but still not a reason to sell someone's private info but not most of them. Most just do bcs it's easy money.
Also it's not that they r only the one with "not paid enough" problem, idols themselves get lower than what staff earn yet they work hard without jeopardising anyone's privacy.
Besides if u want to be paid enough than why r u in private sector go join a financially secure govt job.
A staff only has 1 job that is to take care of idols and it's build on trust . If you take advantage of ur position and trust to earn more money u failed at ur job.

Its not hard to get info from Twice's staff. They are a bit questionable actually. Their managers are very sweet but the other staff members are weird and would probably leak their address for a U.S nickel. It is very easy to get their phone number, and location. I don't like to spread rumors but their hair stylist is one of many staff members that can't be trusted. I have my own reasons to come to that conclusion.

Honestly, I disliked KPop for a long time, and one day went of WTH I'll check it out, and fell in love with the first group I found, that was almost 3 years ago now.. But other than a few fb fan pages and officials of the two fandoms I actually claim, I wouldn't know more than groups, their songs and their company's, basic info and whatnot.. So I am definitely not in a position to say it's completely possible or that it's impossible, but I certainly haven't heard the best things. So what you're saying probably rings completely true... It's sad, and honestly disgusting.

Instead of the staff members protecting the idols why not get security to protect them? They need security guards. HYBE need to do better in protecting BTS, which is their top money maker. BTS has made the owner a billionaire, and he should do better in regards to protection, hiring the right staff by doing an extensive background check. This should be done not only for BTS, but these other high profile idols as well. They should take a page out of Beyonce book. She is heavily secured with security when she's out, the people around her or work for her aren't spreading rumors about her personal life, or leaking info. I just honestly never understood why JYP, HYBE, SM, YG, and some of these other companies won't hire security for their idols.

to staff it is a part time job, company /work culture is partly to blame for this because it can turn angels into devils fairly easy. Let me set it up for you. You new employee happy to do your job, maybe this was even your dream job, ill use bts as an example. You become staff you love it first few days but as sheduales get heavy harder and packed you like it less. To the company, the fans and in some cases the idols you are basically nothing, invisible. All the glory on screen etc is taken by the idols and the company while you who probably did all the big work to ensure your idol suceeded gets zero credit, you dont even show up on the end credits of mv or movies etc. That might leave you abit jaded or not.
Then you add on the very very hard work, you work 12 to 20hr shifts everyday the company treats you like garbage because as staff you are expendable can be replaced at any time so you arent valued and it shows, you have a problem? health or otherwise your manager or higher up dissmisses it and tells you to get to work, if you dont you get written up, docked pay etc or fired and that could invvolve a black list so getting fired from say bighit will show up on your resume at jyp or sm and they deny you. So all of that makes you feel less attached to the job then you add on the low pay you get working there, this isnt like hollywood where staff or managers can get as rich as their celeb. No you get barely enough for miminum wage yet you have to slave and be pushed around 24/7.
Then you have the last straw say one of the members of bts has a bad day and takes it out on you could be entirely a mistake, we all are human and make mistakes shit happens. That could be the straw that broke the camels back if all the other things didnt, so you take the precieved or intentional disrespect and say fuck it im spreading rumors and taking bribes from saseangs.
This can be fixed if the industry treats staff better and pay them very well, 99% of these problems would dissapear overnight

I can understand when the staff gets irritated and mad when they get disrespected. in my opinion more you gain in popularity, more people become curious about your life and more your information becomes very expensive. suddenly people will do anything to get information in order to make a lot of money so there will be a lot of saseng especially when it's the people supposed to protect you who are selling you. it is very hard to protect someone because even staff can sell your informations . what is really sad is that even if the agency takes you the informations are already sold. the real problem is the corruption of staff, communication agencies who also sell the numbers of idols to saseng and even airport staff do it. Agence must do more effort too.

It doesn’t matter. Some people do it for fun to show off their friends, revenge, just bc it’s fun for them or for 15 minutes fame so money is not always the motive. In Hollywood movie studios make staff to sign confidentiality agreements still people leak pics of behind the scenes and by the time they catch the person the damage is done. Luckily it’s happening much less now a days then it used to be.
