Your videos are so precise and articulate...As an owner of a Marantz 2275 and many Pioneer Blue series SX receivers that I work on,I thank you! Great stuff! Will subscribe!

@Emiliano Grady your reply has nothing to do with my comment.

Just wanted to clarify that C703 & C704 are 22uf (which you said), not .22uf (which you wrote)

I was about to say the same thing. I’ve upgraded from 22uf to 47uf ES bipolar caps.

Those tants are 22uf not .22uf, i would leave the big film caps marantz included, they impart part of the marantz sound. Does anyone know if those diodes really need to be replaced? Do they go bad very often?

Any reason not to use Wima film caps vs the poly caps. Just curious. Also, on a 2270 I found C701,702 were acting as an antenna and were generating a loud hum. I tried a low leakage nichicon KL series and it was much better. Is this a bad usage for the phono stage?

Hi, this is Mehul from India. Can you please help me on a small query on my Marantz AVR? It is SR7007. It has an issue where the switched 6.3mm Headphone Jack relay at times gets stuck and due to that teh speakers give not sound into the speakers even when the headphone is not connected. Do I need to changet the jack or the relay or both? Can simple WD-40 spray on relay rod do the needful? Please help with your valuable suggestion.

Love your videos, thanks for sharing all this knowledge!! I'm about to rebuild my P700 board (Marantz 2245) and plan to follow your steps. Question, have you ever had a need to adjust the 2 potentiometers on the P700 board after replacing all these parts? There is a step mentioned in the 2245 service manual (section 15, step 5) where you're supposed to increase the 1 khz signal until slight clipping occurs and adjust the pot(s) for equal clipping level(s). I'm afraid my function generator's output is far too high to feed into the phono input, it clearly overdrives with the gain all the way down. I suppose I could devise some sort of attenuator to drop the signal, but before I even try that do you think I should waste my time?

My function generator goes down to low enough output to allow for this and yes, I follow the service manual steps mentioned above. Good luck!!

Just FYI, the Marantz 2226B has a "P700" board but it's not the same at all. Different layout and different transistors.

I also have a 2226b that I acquired. Come to find out they used it outdoors (insides prove that to be true). I cleaned the switches and potentiometers out yesterday with Deoxit d5 and the scratchyness is gone. My problem now is the phono sounds terrible, but aux sounds perfect. Hoping this video helps.

What is the voltage rating for those 1N4448 diodes? Would 100v suffice?

Since the converters have gotten hard to find, build your own - www.siliconchip.com.au/Issue/2016/November/Passive+Line+To+Phono+Input+Converter?res=nonflash
