I would love to see more costumes, dancing, live music, and elaborate floats. I looked into floats and there's so many rules and restrictions it's no wonder people don't bother anymore. The current cost of living crisis doesn't help, hard to justify spending your limited money on elaborate single use floats and costumes.
I blame the shortage of marching bands. Marching bands are excellent for setting the pace, you need to have several spaced out at regular intervals throughout the parade to keep everyone moving at the same rate.

Remember when the natal day parade was good and not the crap it is now ?
