Some have said that this doesnt work as well as a pedal into an amp rather than a DI. Are they right? im really wanting one of these. Also, whats the sound quality like compared to other Marshall in a box pedals? ie outright quality of the audio. Thanks.
@sammy5772 the last 2 0r 3 they've issued, such as the "Oxford" has switchable spkr sims, but the older ones don't. Who knows if I may have done it wrong the 2 or 3 times I've plugged the SansAmp str8 into my Boss BR, but I don't think these sound like a real amp unless they're going thru an amp. No tube warmth. It sounds good, but I'd be surprised if someone thot they were hearing a mic'd amp.
Thinking about getting 1 or 2 of these. I've had an original SansAmp for over 10 years. I think some ppl might be hesitant to get one of these bcos they think since there's speaker simulation, it won't sound good in front of an amp. I've never had any problem with lack of tone due to that. These sound great for going straight into an amp.
I bought a Blonde V2 for $100 Aussie money. The guy said that he went Accoustic & didn't use it any more. I bought it for a friend whose Son died, unfortunately! He sold his USA Special Strat to buy a PRS ? & nobody can find it or the guy who bought it. He also sold his Hotrod Amp. A local, Famous, Lead Singer from the Band "Silver Chair", "Daniel Johns"! found out & offerer $4,000 to buy it back, with no success! The guy just disappeared. I've bought a couple of Squier Strats to replicate his guitar. 2 of 3 are limited editions & I can't swap parts. Got a 09 CY Bullet for $120. It's Really Good! She will be Stoked! They have a fund raiser every year at a local "Newcastle NSW" Soon will be the 2nd 1. All of his mates bands play there. 2 stages.
Nice demo....I have all three and they not only sound great, but travel well in a small bag! No need to carry that amp anymore - straight to the PA board - unless you want to experience the air movement of your amp. As you get older, your desire to lug heavy things decreases. :-(
I know a lot of guys that use the pedal either straight to PA or in their FX Loop. As with anything, you are going to have to spend some time with it. But it works well in the pedal chain too. Just make sure that you place last in the chain to the amp.
Are they as noisy through a soundboard as they sound through your amp? I play live direct to a board, so noise is an issue. It just seems that whenever you kick them on there was a lot of noise.
I own the liverpool, it's not nearly as noisy as you hear in this video. In fact it's pretty much noiseless. I think he's just sitting to close to the amp
@gwugluud Cant the speaker simulation on these ones be turned off anyway? Although I wouldnt have minded hearing these with DI'd into a mixer with the speaker simulation turned on to hear what the pedal sounds like by itself.
The Liverpool sounds better than most amps you can buy for under $1000, it's definitely a winner as a pedal to an amp, straight to PA or DI to an interface to record into a DAW. The Marshall is ok but a JCM 2000 is not that expensive and you can load box it and record to an interface (which is basically DI'ing it, so same functionality), also there are at least a dozen other great marshall gain pedals out there and tbh mashal gain, 800 and up is sort of generic (in a good way, it's just what you expect and want). The fender is cool i guess but why? There are other VOX pedals but imho the Liverpool beats them. That's my reasoning for the Liverpool.
It is good to know that our troops are able to still get their rock on, even if that stack won't fit in their gear, but when you turn it up to 11, doesn't it give your position away?
Its a preamp, Why not go into power amp in? Thats how i run mine , T he pre amp in hot rods are not very good , The clean aint bad ,But the hot is to me un useable. The sands amp fixes that bad fender pre amp
Great examples of what these pedals do. The Liverpool is currently my fave pedal!!! on my new video "Play Paul McCartney" every guitar part was done with the Liverpool . If you wanna hear the Liverpool in a song context go to my page and check it out. Peace, Vinnie Zummo, Joe Jackson Band guitarist
The British ( AC/DC) and The Blonde( B.B. King) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! But where is that awful noticeable hum coming from?? I don’t believe it’s in the units, but that’s not good when it comes to promotion; and I know it’s not The Gibson. My guess is the wiring in the building, which is always a Bitch no matter where you plug up. But overall those are nice pedals; especially The British.
The Liverpool! Wow! Yes please!

I just started doing the same!!! I have the blonde, British, and California. So damn awesome!
They all sound good to me lol !
That is one sweeet guitar!

How well do these clean up when you roll back the volume knob?
@Danthehorse I think this pedal works great through a amp.

does it have an xlr output or do you run a 30-foot, or more, guitar cable from stage to desk?
You can use a Radial SGI or similar for long cable runs
i'm diggin the blonde sounds nice!
To input amp or return ..?
What kind of mic is he using, does anyone know?
Dude, you are a great player. Those pedals are great too. Not harsh at all. I''ll take the british and the blonde to go. Rock on
Hi! which song is that you playing at 2:37?
ZZ TOP - Just Got Paid
What's the riff at 5:40 from?
I don't know if it's just me, but I am not digging the mic placement. Seems way to bass-y

The british is f'*'ckin awesome . i'm gonna get it . sounds a bit of led zeppelin mixed with guns n roses . *_* ... great demo . sounds great.

great demo, focused on the equipment not playing technique!
