A few updates.... -Adam has been whooping everyone in ping pong with the paddle from the video -We've used this Prusa nonstop and it's been so much fun -I *maybe* (wink wink) got to achieve my 3D printing dream (update to come very, very soon) Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to educate us Joel!
Tool changers such as the Prusa XL open up so many more design opportunities since you can easily print multi-material with them. The custom ping pong paddles were a great idea!
He's got a real Bill Nye quality to him fr. There's a lot that didn't make the video cut but he literally gave us a whole day of his time and I got to learn so much in that short amount of time, including a lot of very digestible answers to somewhat complex questions I was asking
Dave Randolph has been showing up in awesome videos and tv shows that i've watched since the early 2000's, and I'm glad, that even though his career path has changed a couple of times, that the tradition continues. I'm a fan from way back in the early g4 days through the techtv merger through the entirety of hak5 (before during and after revision3), and with printed solid, and their association with various 3d printing companies and the 3d printing community at large, I get to see him pop up doing cool stuff like this. It's always awesome to see really cool people work together to make awesome stuff and further the maker community!
Can we never begin another video with a doorbell noise? 😂😂 I watched this on the bigscreen TV in the family room. I’m 2 minutes in, and my dogs are still running around the house barking like maniacs, looking for visitors. 😅
Love the ping pong paddle idea but what about setting up youth groups or community organizations with free printers instead of already successful businesses? Imagine teaching those groups to make things (e.g. sports equipment) they can't normally afford? A company like Prusa would be all over that. Anyway, I normally love your content but this one felt a bit... meh.

I'm watching the current Prusa tech with interest. I have a Mk3i but have been tempted by Bambu. It's just I don't like the idea of my printer being useless if there's no wi-fi or if the hosting company goes bust. That and I prefer open source. I really hope thier new core x-y machine is as good as a bambu,
Just don't hit those paddles against a table corner, or they'll shatter in, like, million pieces, because PETG (I have love-hate relationship with this material and increasingly use PETG-CF instead).

you don't have to be a fan of mkbhd. just enjoy the fact that joel gave away a tool changing printer & made some nifty pingpong paddles. i know absolutely nothing about mkbhd or their podcast, not that i care to, but i consider those guys extremely lucky. i'd love to be given an advanced printer.
You still owe us a ping pong match!! Thanks for coming to the studio, Joel! We've been printing non-stop
1:51 Easiest free wifi of my life

Honestly if you truck all the way out to our studio just to park outside and use our super mid wifi at our building, more power to you 😂
@thealexwolfe1 just you wait till I hack into your prusa xl and print a 500 cigarette adapter

Great colab... Also side note I was one of the winners for the printed solid filament from the big charity event they are all amazing filaments 🤙
Hey joel you going to talk about what bambu is about to pull on us?

Awww dude thank you! They LOVED them!
PETG supports on PLA prints/vice versa is a game changer
Joel, you are such an awesome teacher for all things 3D Printing! Seriously fun collab

you need to get one of these for Neil Patrick Harris, im sure he would have some awesome projects to make use of the tool changer.
1:51 Whoops
those printers are as fast as mkbhd speed 🤨
I love the many useful applications of 3D printing that exist! It's so useful!
It’s really empowering.

Maybe upgrade his braking system too since he has so much trouble with that
why give the printer to a millionaire 'speedster in school zones' instead of a community makerspace or a library?

The prusa xl is great, but there is not enough content out on this printer
Well if you feel that way, stay tuned...
in no way should a printer that is 36cmx36cmx36cm be considered XL. calling it large would be a stretch.

wow cool!
Joel, please let prusa or bamboo labs that I’m in need of a new printer 😊
