- Roblox has a lot of horror games on their site, but none have scared me quite like this one. Horrific imagery that made me tear up, an odd creepy ambience that gave me loads of anxiety, and an uncertainty of what the true story is leaving me with questions that might never get answered.

Having no jumpscares in a horror game can be a good way to build tension without using ways like that since jumpscares kinda break the tension when it happens.
The game tells about a guy who broke up with a girl, decided to kidnap her and never leave his house.

i ended up getting the truth ending first, so when i got the near start of the denial ending my mindset pretty much was 'oh, he moved on!!! he listened to her and now its all good!!!!' and then it snapped right round and punched me in the gut

We need more stuff like this: The atmosphere, the choice of soundtrack, the visual effects, the lore, all is top notch. This game is an opposite to Jim's computer due to the sheer amount of jumpscares and you can see the actual threat: Your -imaginary- gf. I love the effort put into this game, this game NEEDS MORE attention. Quick gameplay, long PTSD memory of the good amount of horror!!!!111!!

The “Denial” ending, about it, was him denying the fact that she died.
I feel bad for him, and then again I don’t. I don’t know how to feel, to be honest
damn, as a horror die hard i usually prefer the psychological stuff and dont usually enjoy jumpscares...(for them lacking any substance, or just shoddy set up.) but that last jumpscare was brilliantly executed with what it had.
i agree, and most jumpscares are pretty lame to be honest. but that one actually really got me for once, made me jump pretty hard lmao. so kudos to the creator on that
Here is my view of the lore by reading the comments of others and mixing it with my personal opinion:
You play as a man (we'll call him MC) who had a gf called Claire. They didn't have a great relationship together so eventually Claire broke up with him. This made MC angry. Scribbling the pictures of Claire from his presence and doing even worst. Since Claire left him, MC decides to force a girl into his life, which is the black haired girl (lets call her Girl.) MC most likely kidnapped Girl and kept her in his basement, rotting in there until all was left were her corpses. MC most likely developped PTSD from this experience and started to go mentally insane (he never left his home, he does very few things everyday, and thinking Girl is Claire.) We have no idea what happened to Claire since, but she must have died or have been killed. This led to the spirit of Claire haunting MC for the things he has done. She started talking to him through his mind and through his TV. This has been going on for at least 7 weeks, and soon enough... MC snaps.
Ending 1: MC became paranoid (the people in the windows were most likely hallucinations) so he started to do the one thing he forbid himself to do. He entered the basement, the basement where the corpses of Girl were left to rot in. The white room he entered was his imagination, thinking he found Claire because he cant make up the difference. He subcounsiously brings the corpses of Girl to his bedroom, living a lie in his head.
Ending 2: MC went to bed after the traumatizing experience of the TV. He goes to bed, and Claire was able to haunt him with her abilities... Claire's spirit enters MC's mind and creates a scenery for MC to work into, haunting him about what he has done. Claire reminds him about the things he has done and gives him a reminder by giving him a heartattack by showing what Claire has become. This was the reality check ending.
Ending 1 was most likely MC trying to escape reality and getting lost in his hallucinations and mental state.
Ending 2 is accepting what he has done. He finally snapped and understood all the terrible things he did, and Claire was there to judge him now.
Other things: The barricaded doors could mean 2 things. Either MC didn't want the police to find out it was him to kidnapped Girl, or MC got lost in his mind again and barricaded the doors in case Claire wanted to leave him again (this is reffering to Girl.) The reflection of him in the second ending is propably Claire messing with mind to give him a good reality check. Girl most likely has nothing to do with Claire, and when MC turns only to find Claire next to him, that could also just be his hallucination either by his mental state or by Claire herself. Let Her Go could mean a couple of things. Either stop thinking about Claire or Girl in a "break up" way or a "forget your actions" way. It could also mean Let Her Go as in let Girl escape the home (barricaded doors, you know?) Or let Claire leave you, which already happened. Wake Up could be Claire trying to give MC's reality check through his dreams or it could be deep in MC's brain that still remembers the things he has done, trying to bring his memories back.
Edit: Honestly, I think there is another thing to the story and its that the whole thing was in MC's head by his descent into insanity. After locking up girl in the basement, thats when everything seen in the game slowly becomes a part of his mind

I feel like the story is how the mc (you the player) were unable to let go of claire, and overall stopping the relationship so instead you went mad and got that other girl whether by force or not i dunno. You kept that girl there to relieve the pain and loss of claire not being with you anymore and its resulted you to short circuit your brain into a simple circuit of activities, wake up, look at your reflection, eat, watch tv, sleep. the first ending I believe is the player believing his fake façade he's created for him and then choosing to try let go in that way but its not really letting go, and us the viewers get to see like an outside view of whats actually happening, bro is sleeping with an actual dead body and claire is still trying to contact the player but we know now its already too late. the second ending I believe is the player finally coming to terms of what he did, reliving past events and realizing he's not only murdered the girl but probably pushed claire further away, as for the jumpscare by claire idrk what is symbolises, perhaps how he views claire's hate for him?
Anyways sorry for little rant, this story is very interesting to theorize abt :D

there's a roblox horror game called "intrusion: a world below" where chapter 1 is basically a glorified walking simulator just to introduce you to the story, but chapter 2 plays similarly to doors in a way but very different, also there's a game called Facility made by Disquit which is also pretty good (though a bit glitchy in its non-story mode)
The jump scare at the end didn't scare me, it was the guy screaming that got me.

if you like this you should try a game called "Omori" which isn't a roblox game and has some rpg elements, but it has a similar premise. As soon as I started watching this I was immediately reminded of Omori

My theory/lore based on the game:
so he is basically kidnapped her, probably his friend or something , maybe he liked her but she said no, so he bought her probably , and forced her to stay, but maybe she resisted, so he killed her by mistake , but not accepting reality he kept her in his bunker or basement. He still can't forget what happened and got mental breakdown probably , the scribbled photo says about it , so he started imagining stuff like she is with him , but he locked her down in basement , and he imagine she is calling him, now the mirror showed him happy, which is what he convincing himself , but the creepy reflection shows he is a murderer and how he feel inside him , the 2 endings probably goes like this. 1. he accepts his desire for her or maybe her ghost wants to be with him, the tv mention let her go, meaning , let her out of the basement , he accept it and let her out,i.e her dead body, he still thinks it as clair cz he has mental breakdown , so he doesn't see her as dead yet tho he knows it, then he take her with him to sleep , her fface was like that probably be cz its rotten so bad. 2nd ending is him not accepting her, cz sher is dead, but his imagination or her ghost isn't satisfied with his decision of keeping her locked even tho she is dead, so she says, this is not gonna work out anymore and haunts him.
This is probably the best interpretation of the gameplay, but im still so confused with the game. Is Clair and the black haired girl the same person??

This is how I understood it:
Clair was his gf, but they didn't really have a healthy relationship together, considering the scribbles on the picture of Clair having a picnic. She broke up with him and he decided to kidnap and kill Claire's Bff, im talking about the girl shown in the Missing Person poster. He thought of Clair and her bff as the same person and started to imagine Clair's bff stalking him anywhere around his house. After he killed Clair's bff, he also barricated his front door so people can't come in and found Clair's bff's body and report him to the police. 7 weeks and three days passed of him just thinking about Clair and also her bff, he was warned not to open the door to where he hid Clair's bff's body. If he chose to open the door, Clair's bff's wouldn't play along with the whole " Clair and her bff are the same person " thingy and her corpse will be lead to his bedroom. If he sleeps, we find out Clair is also dead (but not because of him), and she wouldn't be happy that her ex-boyfriend killed her bff and decides to kill him.
This is just how I thought the story goes, I know it's not right.
Also, the " let her go " on the tv could mean he is being told to forget Clair and her bff and move on with what he did to her bff just because he was heartbroken by the fact she broke up with him. It could also be that he didn't kill black haired girl and he was just imagining a new girlfriend for himself without knowing that girl is dead and missing and so she can't rest in peace without him using her soul for his benefits, making her angry at him and taunting him about the fact Clair broke up with him and they'll never be together again.
I do agree with the first part, where you said the MC and Clair didn't have a healthy relationship, so Clair decides to break it off. However, I think the black haired girl is completely unrelated to Clair and is just some random girl the MC kidnapped to fill the void his girlfriend had left, locking her in the basement without food and water, where eventually she dies of starvation. If you open the door and go to the basement, the MC will take the corpse of the girl upstairs, not realising that she has been dead for a while (Also confirming the fact that he confused her for Clair). I also think that the ending where you go to sleep is there to give more context to the situation and that there is no specific reason why Clair is the one that jumpscares the MC at the end.
I don't have a solid theory for this one, but what if he barricaded the door to his house because he knew (if only for a brief moment) he was a danger to other people? Would make sense, considering he doesn't even realised the girl with black hair is not Clair until the ending, nor that she is dead, so he wouldn't really have a reason to barricade the door from others.

The game is really good the thing that made this stick together was the 2 endings (the way I see it) represent as Denial and Truth, the first ending was him denying everything, its also the fact he got back his happiness, but he had to live a lie, a denial to the fact that he wasn't was ready for a new relationship, like how in the second ending the note says both Clair and the guy weren't working out. The whole conversation between him and the other girl was in his mind, he wanted to believe he wasn't alone, he wanted to believe hes ready for an opening to his heart, but he knew deep down the only way someone was gonna stay with him was committing a crime, kidnapping. The second ending was him actually seeing the truth, kidnapping was wrong, what he did was wrong, when he saw the poster he realized it was wrong and thought of how much Clair would hate him(like the jumpscare in the end) whether if Clair knew the girl or not, this is also how even in the darkest situations he still thinks about his ex since he cant let go. Also the fact that the jumpscare had her mouth open, like she was screaming at him in hatred. The fact that he wasn't happy with the truth, the real truth, about how he cant let go, about how he cant go to anyone, which is why the doors are blocked up, they wouldn't be needed to still be blocked up if the girl was dead, especially since its been 7 weeks (like the game said) she would've died ages ago since we don't see him feeding her or giving her water, he was instead hiding himself, from people, because he knew, he wasn't ready to meet anyone else.

Story (from what i saw):
Serial ending: You really liked a girl after you went into a picnic with her, and just couldn't stop thinking of her. When you once invited her to your house, you decided to keep her in your basement and barricade the door. The reason for the "WAKE UP" text is most likely because the character is in a infinite loop, in other words: He's inside a nightmare because of his own guilt, and the "Serial" ending is you basically sleeping with a dead corpse. The reason to why her face and name is blurred in the picture at the start is because your character does everything he can to forget her.
Claire ending: The same thing as Serial ending, except you decide to still ignore your guilt and feelings. The result is the dead woman's sister, Claire, following you and going inside your house to avenge her sister by killing you the same way you did to her: Locked and forgotten.
Basically, you're a psychopath and both endings are nor good or bad, as the Serial ending your life goes on and in the Claire ending you are killed (which is technically the good ending).
